Spring Branch

Sunday, when DH & I were riding around, we spotted a tree in full bloom with it's beautiful pink flowers!  I'm not sure whether it was a Redbud, or some kind of flowering fruit tree.  It was small, but magnificent, covered with those beautiful little flowers.

This branch is not as pretty as the real thing, but maybe will remind the recipient that Spring will come.

I stamped the branch with Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla cardstock, then used my SU Watercolor Pencils and a blender pen to color the flowers.  I found my distressing tool, and distressed a bit around the edges and rounded the corners.

The scallops at the bottom are the top of the Scallop Envelope cut with the BIG GUY.

The layout is from the JAI#56 challenge....

I flipped the sketch and left off the scallops under the ribbon.

Ink:  Crumb Cake

What a great idea to use the scallop envelope in that way. Your card is gorgeous.

I'm so jealous that you were able to spot a flowering tree near your home! We have 15F this morning and are still encased in a thick layer of accumulated snow. Nothing's going to be flowering around here for quite a while yet. How wonderful that you were inspired by it and captured it so beautifully with this wonderful CAS card!

Just beautiful! Spring is coming soon and I am anxiously awaiting it. The temps have been great recently but, of course, storms are now on the way.
