Smoosh Bird for Queen Michelle

I've been playing with that smoosh technique again and used it to punch out a sweet bird for Queen Michelle (aka tygerpaws11), at splitcoaststampers.  See what you think.

Once the "smooshing" was done and dried, it didn't take long to put this together.  This is Michelle's card that I CASEd.

I left off a sentiment because I couldn't decide what I wanted to put on there.  I'm thinking it would make a good Thinking of You or Get Well card.

You can see some other smooshed cards and directions here  and here.

Card Recipe

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Stamps: None
Ink:  Daffodil Delight marker (for beak)
Paper: Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Other: Re-Inkers (Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Marina Mist), Bird Builder Punch, Baja Breeze Seam Binding,  Basic Pearl (colored with Sharpie Pen), Embossing Folder (Sizzix),

The snow has come in and it's a winter wonderland out there.  It started about 12:30 and we have about 4" now and it's still snowing hard. The roads are really bad and you're probably going to see pictures on the news of the Raleigh traffic snafu.  It looks like Atlanta 3 weeks ago.  Thankfully, school was cancelled so there are no kids stuck out there in buses.

We're safe and snug and all our family have arrived home safely except for DSIL.  He's stuck at work preparing for a party that's not going to happen this evening.  The client was insistent that she didn't want to cancel.  At least if they have to spend the night there, they'll have lots of good food!

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Good job "smooshing", Bonnie. I love your pretty bird and the card. Great colors.

It rained here from about 12:30 until 4:45 p.m. and then starting snowing. It is sticking. We are only supposed to get 1-3" but it is going to get icy overnight.

Very pretty little smooshed bird and card! Love the embossing and that wonderful ribbon too.
Glad you're home safe and sound and not stuck in that horrible traffic I just saw on the news! I know the snow must be beautiful.

Such a pretty bird and card Bonnie. The rain has stopped here for today and the sun is shining but another storm forecast for tomorrow! Keep warm over there.

Love the colours and the card, beautifully coloured bird too.

Sorry about your snow, just hope it doesn't come over here as snow. However we don't want rain either LOL.

Glad you are safe and warm

What a fun little card. I think it doesn't need a greeting on the front and is perfect as is. There are definitely worse places to be stranded than where there is lots of party food.

What I think, is, I simply love it. Looks easy (bet it won't be for ME!), and you've got my fav SU EF. Your bird is gorgeous...just like your pretty bluebirds shown in the earlier post. This would work for any occasion I think. Good job, Miz Bonnie K! TFS & Hugs

That smooshing colored the bird just right, Bonnie, and I agree that this would be perfect for a get well card. A cute little bird like that would cheer anyone up.

Your smooshed bird has a nice, realistic look to its 'feathers', Bonnie. Bet it was fun to make, too. :)

Happy Valentine's Day! Staying warm?
