Candy Canes and Polka Dots

It's the first Merry Monday in December.

If you've been playing with us all year,
you should be ready to send out those Christmas cards.

This week Kreative Kristie chose our challenge.

And the talented Shirley B. is our Guest Designer this week.

I used my favorite candy cane stamp that came from a
Michael's Dollar Bin.

I stamped with red ink on  a snippet of Whisper White,
then with black on a snippet of polka dot paper.

I fussy cut the bow and pieced on the canes.

Crystal Effects made the candy shiny and
Wink of Stella gave some shimmer to the bow.

Another polka dot piece behind and a fun sentiment
and I was done.

I'm taking my snippets over to
where Di can't run after us this week.
I'm sure there will be lots of mischief  fun happening there.

Hope to see your "sweet" cards over at

Thanks for stopping by and for all your comments.

I'm sorry I haven't been by to visit  you lately.

I hope to have more time to visit this week.

Enjoy!

Love the vibrant red and green! Great idea to put crystal effects on the candy canes - it must make them look quite realistic.

Bonnie, sometimes one can find really beautiful stamps in the dollar bin, this one is one of them, what a sweet image of candy canes, I love the dimension of the snipped bow and the glossy look of the candy.
I need to get me some stitched dies, I just love the beautiful detail they add to your cards.
Thank you for your sweet comment on my Merry Monday card, I'm so happy that I collected a lot of Christmas cards just by participating in Christmas themed challenges, it's been a lot of fun. Can't wait to start the New Year with more fun challenges from all of you fabulous ladies.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.

The candy canes look fabulous, all shiny and real looking, Bonnie. I had a lot of leftover cards from last year so I didn't always play along at MM but now I've depleted my stash and MM will be on my 'do every week' list.
