Warm Wishes for CAS Watercolour

Time for a new CAS Watercolour Card Challenge

This month's challenge is

I stamped this beautiful Penny Black Poinsettia with Whisper White craft ink and heat embossed it.

I colored the flower with re-inkers and my Aqua Painter.
The embossed resist helps to stay in the lines.

It gives a nice contrast too.

The background was my first try with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors.
I've had the set for months and it seems like I'm always in too much of a hurry and
go with what I know.  I finally made a sample sheet so I could see what the colors
look like with water and had a play with them.  They are very creamy and I need lots
more practice with them.

I added a little of the Gansai Deep Pink to the base of the petals.
A very subtle contrast.

I hope you'll find time in this busy month to relax
with some watercolor resist and share it with us at

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

TFS your beautiful Heat Embossed and Watercolored poinsettia, Bonnie. The white edges of your flower really help your flower pop along with your blue watercolor wash. Isn't it fun to be inspired to use a new product! Hugs, Nancy

Beautiful! The poinsettia looks lovely in the shades of pink. Great job on the background with your first use of your Gansai Tambi paints - I agree, they take some getting used to, but now that I am, I love them. I used them on my CAS Watercolour card too. I need more practice getting a nice wash background with them, but they are fast becoming my go-to watercolour paints.

Beautiful card Bonnie. Love the watercolour resist with white heat embossing. The watercolours look so amazing against the white. Glad you had time to play with your Gansai watercolours. I have heard so much about these, but have not tried them. Another thing to add to my wish list. :)

Love the beautiful poinsettia and your watercoloured background creates the illusion that the flower is in the forefront. Great job. xx

AWE-some! Love the embossing with the pink petals and the soft blues of the background wash. I've only used the Gansai w/c once...your effort looks mighty fine to my eyes. Love that image too! TFS & Hugs

Now how many times do you tell someone how gorgeous their art work is and your work is indeed art. I don't need any art stuff right now Bonnie but I sure appreciate you keeping me informed.

What a beautiful card Bonnie, I know I always say that, but I always mean it! Love that poinsettia and I love how you watercolored it. The extra color from the Gansai Tambi Watercolors really adds a lot of depth. I love your background too, and I don't think you need any practice!!! Wish my tries would look this good the first time around. lol We both know they don't!! Love it!!! Hugs, Brenda

So beautiful and delicate! This has the feel of a real poinsettia, you know how their leaves are thin and delicate. I just adore your watercoloring.
