Loons

Hello friends.

If you are celebrating Labor Day, I hope  you are enjoying the day!

We've just returned from a couple days in the NC mountains
with our daughter and her family. So we are spending
a quiet Labor Day.

These loons were stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed.  They'd been
waiting patiently in that UFO box for their place on a card.

I had pulled them out thinking they would be good for our
CAS Watercolour silhouette challenge
but needed some watercolor to go with them.

I had this piece of watercolor wash in my background box and was
trying to figure out how to put them together when I saw this card
that my friend Julia had done.

She enabled me to zip over to Papertrey ink and check out this die.

Actually it was 2 dies.  And while I was there, I had to get some
of their wonderful sentiment sets too.

I used the smaller die to cut a piece of the watercolor wash
and the larger die to emboss a piece of Neena.

Fortunately there was enough of a border left on the wash
to use as a narrow border.

Here's a close up of the wash. Doesn't it look like water?

CAS Mix Up
I have stamping, watercolor wash, heat embossing, dry embossing with a die and a die cut.

AAA Cards #98 is
I'm thinking the loons qualify as critters.

ANYTHING GOES

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Super card, Bonnie, the watercolour wash is so pretty. I had to chuckle when I saw the title of your post. In the UK a loon is a silly or foolish person! xx

So beautiful. I love the watercoloured background, just perfect with this sweet image. I really like that die and was also eyeing Julia's gorgeous card. I'm thinking maybe I need to have a shop at Papertrey Ink as well. :) xx

Oh this is nice, Bonnie - I have a special affinity for loons, as we used to vacation in Canada on a lake and loved hearing their calls! Thank you so much for joining us this week at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, and for bringing back that memory!

Love your soft blue watercolour wash background for your beautiful silhouette loons, Bonnie. Your CAS design is so elegant and beautiful just like your loons, which we see often on the Oregon coast. TFS Hugs..
