Layered Embossed Flicker or Flutter

Hello friends.  I'm glad  you stopped by.

I have another card using this month's technique at
CAS Mix Up

The CAS Mix Up June Challenge is hosted by Loll.

I'm going to warn you that this technique is habit forming.
It's hard to stop once you get going on it!

First I die cut some the butterfly from cardboard packaging.

It's a good idea to cover the hot griddle with a craft mat then
add a small sheet of parchment paper.
Lay a die cut on top, pour a good amount of clear embossing powder
over the die cut and let it melt.

Once it's  melted, add colored embossing powders, glitter, and even
some micro beads.  I believe that one of Flicker's wings had some
residue picked up from a previous die cut and melted in.

You can do this technique with a heat gun, but the
electric griddle works much better.
The craft mat keeps the griddle clean so it's still good
for the grandchildren's pancakes!

There are video tutorials at the challenge site.

Here's a close up of Flicker.

Our Design Team is joined this month by our Guest Designer, Jane (Purple Loves Crafts).
There are some awesome inspiration pieces over there.

I hope you can join in the fun this month.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

That's a pretty way to use that embossing folder and the butterfly is beautiful! Love reading about you doing the griddle technique that way. Beautiful card.

What a beautiful card Bonnie! I love how your butterfly came out, looks like I need to go and watch the video. I didn't realize at first you meant a real griddle, I thought it was a crafty tool. lol But then when you said about making pancakes on it for the grands, then the light bulb went off. lol Yes, I'm dense at times! Hugs, Brenda

Your teal and white butterfly is shiny and gorgeous, Bonnie! I love that you dry embossed the background and heat-embossed the edges of the panel with Liquid Platinum - a very subtle and nice touch! Hideko xx
