Dancing Daisies Spotlight

Hello and welcome!

I have some dancing daisies to share today.

After placing this Penny Black stamp in my MISTI, I inked it with Distress Markers
using one color at a time, stamping and moving color with a water brush.

If I lose the details, I can stamp again, usually without re-inking.

When I had all the colors like I wanted, I pulled color from the flowers
(I left everything in the MISTI in case I needed to stamp again.)

I wanted a little blue in the wash so I swiped some Faded Jeans ink
on my palette and using a wet on wet technique, added the blue.

To finish off, I splattered (quite timidly) some of the Faded Jeans over the piece.

I wanted to use the sketch from the Penny Black Saturday Challenge

so my daisies ended up like a spotlight.  Again, I've interpreted the sketch pretty loosely.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

What a gorgeous job with this stamp! I found this one difficult but loved it enough to keep trying. Love your colors on this. The spotlighting of one of them was such a fabulous idea. This turned out so beautiful!

Oh I love the pretty shades of pink of the dancing daisies, Bonnie! The way you watercolored/stamped with distress markers is so delicate and beautiful that I almost start buying distress ink markers, then I realize it's not the markers but it's your skills! (I don't know how many times I felt this way after looking at your gorgeous cards this month!) The soft blue sky with spatters is so lovely. And a fantastic take on the sketch, using the circle for spot-lighting the daisy! Hideko xx

This is awesome, Bonnie. I love the soft water color look and how you spotlighted the flower inside the circle. Adding the blue over it made a lovely, soft backgrounding.
