Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Another year and another Color Hues Challenge, this time brought to us by Sheri.
Here are the colors that Sheri picked.
My first thought was a winter scene and I do need cards for winter birthdays,
but Valentine's Day is right around the corner and as fast as the time is
rushing by, I didn't think it was too early to start on valentines.
I die cut two hearts. One was cut from a piece of red plaid and the other
from Kraft cardstock. I cut off the top of the Kraft heart, embossed the bottom with
the subtle embossing folder and added it to the bottom of the plaid.
For extra stability, I cut another heart from Kraft and added it to the back
of the heart.
I added some little sprigs that were hanging around to give the heart a little
more something. The background was from a play date with Nance. The
pine embossing keeps with the masculine feel.
The love is an old Penny Black die and cut from a snippet of red cardstock.
It's actually two layers for stability.
Our talented Guest Designer, Stefanie Severin and our awesome
Design Team have lots of inspiration for you. I hope you'll check them out
and join us at Color Hues.

Your sweet and thoughtful comments warm my heart!
This is a terrific Valentine. Combining the plaid with kraft made a wonderful masculine card. The plaid reminds me of warm flannel shirts that men wear so this is perfect. I love the addition of the sprigs.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, my friend! I LOve your half-plaid heart and how you've used Sheri's colors for a very lovely Valentine!
