Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
Happy Monday.
This first one is for Freshly Made Sketches. I pulled this mop up background from
my stash and added it to a watercolor card base. Three squares were die cut from
another piece of watercolor paper and some simple flowers were stamped on top.
Butterflies were cut from the rest of the mop up background to add to the squares.
A foiled sentiment finishes it off.
I'm sending this to Freshly Made Sketches #692. Here's Narelle's sketch...
Card Recipe
Stamps: BP It's Your Day (SB), Nurturing Blooms (GKD)
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe
Paper: Watercolor (Strathmore), Mixed Media (Strathmore), Black
Other: Stitched Butterfly Trio (PS), Stitched Square die (?), Opaque White Foil (SB)

Bonnie, you know how dear to my heart butterflies are and these little beauties are so pretty in those mopped-up colors! Narelle is going to love it, too!

These bright summery colors caught my eye right away! Just gorgeous! The butterflies are beautiful against that brilliant background!
ReplyDeleteThat mop up piece couldn't be any lovelier if you planned it, Bonnie. It works great for the background and for the butterflies.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous interpretation of that sketch, Bonnie, and a gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteYour butterflies and mopped up background are SO pretty Bonnie and you executed the sketch beautifully...LOVE it!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteLooks like those butterflies are fluttering about in a beautiful sunset! This is marvelous, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteYou make mopping up with card stock much more fun than mopping the floor. Plus, you got gorgeous colors whereas most only get gray water! This is so pretty with the butterflies cut from the same paper. I love that design too.
ReplyDeleteA really summery card using this wonderful mop up piece Bonnie, and the pretty added butterflies on their white stitched squares with the added stamped flowers finish the look brilliantly, and great contrast with the black sentiment strip over the top...a beautiful card. x
ReplyDeleteAnother great Freshly Made Sketch! The butterflies are a brilliant choice for filling those squares, and I do love your mopped up background!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card in such summery colours! Beautiful! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful, love the colours and butterflies. x
ReplyDeleteLove the way you used the mop-up piece in such beautiful summer colours! I really like the small squares with the faint stamping behind the butterflies.
ReplyDeleteLove the background and the colors are right up my alley. I think I must like warm colors better than cool ones but I have to say, I hardly ever met a color I didn't like!

Oh I love this take on the sketch. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Bonnie! Great colors, and I love that the butterflies are also from the same panel
ReplyDeleteOh this is just lovely! Loving the butterfly colours carried over from the DSP. Thanks for joining us at FMS this week!
ReplyDeleteI feel like your butterflies are flying out of the middle of a storm. Your watercolor, so restless, gives the impression of storm clouds, only in shades of red. But colors don't limit us, and clouds can be red. A beautiful, very expressive card, my dear Bonnie.
