A Dress for Baby Sophie

Earlier in the week I shared a couple of Thank You cards from the set I am making for a young friend's Baby Shower. Here is the card I made for the baby. I hear her name is Sophie. Isn't that adorable?

I saw this card by SoSherry on SCS a while back and printed it. In her post she put the link to the template. You can find the template here.

I cut some Whisper White cardstock using the template. The pinafore lifts up to open the card.

For the dress I used some of the decorative paper left over from the cards and adhered it to the card base. The 1/2" Circle Punch worked great for the neckline.

I used light weight Vellum for the pinafore and ran it through the BIG GUY with the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder. I used the Scallop Circle Punch for the collar and pierced each scallop. I also pierced the sleeve ends to look like lace. I made the flower on the pinafore by gathering a piece of Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon. The collar daisy stickers were buried deep in my stash.

By using the paper piercing, I can use this for the Ways to Use It Challenge to Stick it. I had all kinds of ideas for using one of those stick pins from the retired Pretties Kit. Somehow I can never get the look I like with them. Guess I'll have to put the kit in my Retirement Sale.

No stamping for this card. Just cutting and folding.

Hope you are having a wonderful Friday.
