This week's One Layer Wednesday challenge is Birds & Bees, Flowers & Trees. At least 2 of those elements are required as well as a sentiment. And of course it has to be one layer with minimum embellishments.
My daughter and I were admiring a picture on the cover of a catalog last winter and brainstorming about how we could duplicate it in a card. This is actually very similar to what she came up with and gave her Dad for his birthday. Thanks for letting me CASE you Becky.
The trees are stamped with Basic Gray and I stamped off once before stamping on the card. I used the Signo Uni Ball White Gel Pen to draw the snow on the branches. The snowflakes were stamped with Whisper White Craft Ink and I used a cotton ball dipped in the ink pad to smudge around the bottom and background. I used the Pocket Silhouettes berries to add a bit of color along the bottom. The sentiment is heat embossed.
Card Recipe
Stamps: Season of Friendship, Pocket Silhouettes, Bright Christmas
Ink: Basic Gray, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Paper: Crumb Cake
Accessories: White Gel Pen, White Embossing Powder, Daffodil Delight & Basic Black SU Markers
You can find this challenge over at Styles Ink. Maybe you would like to play along!
Enjoy,
Bonnie
This is simply beautiful! It reminds me of my mum's place in the country on a misty winter morning.
ReplyDeleteWay to totally rock the challenge!
This is the SWEETEST one-layer card, Bonnie!! I love that stark tree, your snow accents, and that lovely red bird. It's totally OK that there's no bees :)
ReplyDeleteThis is spectacular, Bonnie! It's so peaceful, like freshly fallen snow.
ReplyDeletebeautiful, the red really poops and make the wonderful snow scene perfect
