My favorite set, Lovely as a Tree came through for me again. I had a request for some masculine cards, mainly get well or sympathy.
Then when I saw the One Layer Wednesday challenge was to use a bare tree, everything came together.
Jennifer was very specific about not having any leaves, flowers, needles, nada. Just a plain tree. Well this stamp has several plain trees. I don't know if having more than one will count against me or not. It is a one layer card with no embellishments.
I scored a frame around the trees then used the Basic Black Marker over the scoring. To do it again, I wouldn't bother with the scoring. I'd just outline it.
I also did one on River Rock.
I think this one could be used as a get well card or a sympathy card.
I stamped the trees on both cards with VersaMark and embossed them with Black Embossing Powder. I embossed the sentiments too.
Card Recipe
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Close a Memory (card 1), Sincere Salutations (card 2)
Ink: VersaMark
Paper: Crumb Cake (card 1), River Rock (card 2)
Accessories: Black Embossing Powder
Enjoy,
Bonnie

Beautifully done, Bonnie. I really like both and you're right, they would be great for multiple purposes.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, these are beautiful! I do love that stamp...and I do have it! LOL!! I love the black box you drew around it...really makes it look like there is another layer there. Cool!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards - I need a sympathy card and may just have to CASE these!
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning one-layer cards, Bonnie. Perfect for masculine sympathy cards! Have a great weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these cards.
ReplyDeleteI needed a sympathy card to send tonight and was stressing over what would be appropriate when I saw your post. A happy coincidence as this set just arrived today.
These cards are so simple and elegant and the images are just perfect with those sentiments!
