The Less is More challenge this week is to do a one layer card with EMBOSSING. It can be heat or dry embossing.
I bought a stamp last month that is not Stampin' Up! (gasp). I saw a card at a local craft store that was made using this stamp and I just couldn't resist.
Here it is on a one layer card.
This is a background stamp. I stamped it with VersaMark and embossed with black. Then I went in and colored the flowers with markers.
I did some scoring to frame the image.
This was the third try! Heat embossing is a BIG challenge!
Here's what I did with one of the cast offs...
I did one with white embossing too. Again, not a one layer card but still Clean and Simple.
Card Recipe
Stamps: Non SU
Ink: VersaMark, SU Markers
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Black EP, White EP, Basic Pearls, Big Shot, Framed Tulip EF
I used this technique with some SU sets. If you're interested you can see them here, here and here.
I've glanced at the gallery at Less is More and it is fantastic! I can't wait to get time to go back and browse some more.
Thanks for the visit.
Enjoy!

Great cards and a tricky technique but your cards have all become special. The one layer one reminds me of a firework display. XOXO Zoe
ReplyDeleteI have the same stamp, and i never thought to use it this way... the black background gives a fantastic effect to the coloured flowers. It's a great card!

ReplyDeleteBonnie, these are lovely!! I love all the pretty colors in your flowers..the white AND black have a distinct beauty...love how you framed the white one in yellow and how you were able to use the "mistakes"...no mistakes here..LOVE them:)!!
ReplyDeleteI'm 'wowed' by each one of these, Bonnie! That was a good purchase, that stamp. So many things you can do with it! I imagine it stamped and embossed in black over a damask or some other tight patterned paper.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, this is BEAUTIFUL! Love your coloring...the whole card is just so bright and vibrant...right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteOh that is fantastic Bonnie

Absolutely brilliant Bonnie! This is a fab technique but you take it to new levels! Vx
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have tons of SU stamps, it's still refreshing to see other stamps once in awhile. This one was a good choice, and it's really neat to see how you used it in different ways. Here's an idea: try using Versamark and clear ep over black or dark cs. Nice job, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are spectacular, Bonnie!! Great embossing, great coloring, and great designs for each card. Love these!
ReplyDeleteThey're all beauties, Bonnie. I see why you sneaked and bought that stamp (LOL)...so pretty is that garden of flowers. Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, Fabulous cards, love them all, great techniques :0) xxx
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteSuper effect on the cards and a great technique. Love the bright colours on your flowers and your rescue cards are fab. x
ReplyDeleteWOW, WOW, and WOW!!! Fabulous cards, Bonnie! I LOVE that stamp...but what you've done with it is unbelievable!! All wonderful cards....and I must tell you how impressed I am that you did heat embossing! I have tried over and over to do heat embossing, and I am always less than thrilled with the end result!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on these!!
