Feeling Fruity

The Less is More challenge this week is:
FEELING FRUITY

We would like to see fruit on your cards or fruit colours...easy peasy 'lemon' squeezy!

Easier said than done.  Do you know how many fruit stamps I have?  This is it.

This image is from the Faith in Nature set which is a Hostess option if you host a $150.00 workshop or more.

I inked the image with Soft Suede and stamped off once on scrap before stamping this image.  The pear is colored with ink and sponge daubers.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Faith in Nature, Blossoms Abound (retired)
Ink:  Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke
Paper:  Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Other:  Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch

And here's a picture of our boys.  Luke wanted to hold Jack with a little help from Nana.  It looks like serious business!  This was before Jack told us he wanted out of there!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  It's raining here.  What a blessing!   We really need it.

Thanks for the visit and the lovely comments.  I hope to get by to see what you have done.

Enjoy!

Simple and Quick

I made this card a while back and since I didn't get a card made today, it's a good time to share it.

I used the Fabulous Florets stamp set and Daffodil Delight and River Rock ink.  Quick and simple.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Fabulous Florets
Ink:  Daffodil Delight, River Rock
Paper:  River Rock, Basic Black, Whisper White
Other:  Scallop Trim Border Punch

I made a birthday cake for DD today.  Luke really enjoyed the beater and asked me to make him "some more cake batter because it was so good".  Unfortunately the bottom of the cake came out at a different time than the top!  LOL, I used to make beautiful cakes all the time.  Now I end up with Birthday Surprises!  We put candles on it anyway and enjoyed the messy cake.  Hopefully there are fewer calories this way!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you'll come back soon.

Enjoy!

Creative Calypso

Our youngest daughter's 35th birthday is tomorrow, and while I have many cards to choose from, I wanted to make her something special.  I hope she likes it.

I used my new Creative Elements set and stamped the flower three times on Whisper White with Calypso Coral ink.  I used a blender pen to pull the color and then, since it wasn't as vivid as I wanted, I used the same color marker to add some more intense color.

Then I cut out the top third from one flower and the top two thirds from another and stacked them on the third flower with dimensionals.

I used the sketch from SC343 at SCS this week.  It was a bit fussy and time consuming to cut all those pieces and round the corners, but well worth the effort I think.

It also fits for the jac-inks #13 challenge to do a Monotone card.

I can't believe my baby is 35!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Creative Elements, You're a Gem
Ink:  Calypso Coral
Paper:  Whisper White, Calypso Coral
Other:  Blender Pen, Corner Rounder & Scallop Edge punches, White 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Pearl, Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping byto visit and for your kind comments.

Enjoy!

Kindness Matters

Your kindness does matter so much to me!  Thank you for your comments from yesterday's post.  It's so good to be back to blogging!

Today's card is for the Color Challenge at SCS to use Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight with Neutrals of choice.  Dessert is felt.  I'm dieting this week.  No dessert!

The butterflies are from a new set in the Idea Book and Catalog.  It's called Kindness Matters.  It caught my eye the first time I looked through the catalog.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Kindness Matters
Ink:  Black StazOn, SU Markers (Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight)
Paper:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Island Indigo
Other:  Blender Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals

And I had the chance to cuddle with baby Jack.  I did lay him down long enough to take a picture to share.

He's three weeks old now and look at that come on, let's play Nana look!

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

Parade

Hello Stampin' Friends.  After what seems like a long time away, I hope to be able to stamp and blog more frequently again.  We are moved into our new home.  I have a wonderful room to stamp in and can't wait to take some pictures so I can share it with you.

I have finally uncovered my stamping supplies.  Among the things on top was this image that I stamped a couple of weeks ago when I went to Roanoke Rapids to stamp with my friends there.

This week's Less is More challenge is
BUTTON OR RIBBON

(or plurals thereof)

I don't know who to credit with the image.  I didn't see any name on it.  I know that it isn't Stampin' Up!  Neither is the sentiment.  It is from my pre Stampin' Up! days.

I love the silhouette stamps and this reminds me of a group of bronze statues in front of one of our city buildings. .  There are about five or six life size statues of children in a parade.  Oh, the joy on their faces.  They always make me smile.

Hopefully I will adjust to my new schedule and be able to stamp and visit your blogs with more frequency.  We are keeping baby Jack more now and he really likes to be held.  Truthfully, I love to hold him.  He will be on the go soon enough!  My stamp room and computer are upstairs now and all the action is downstairs.  That's a challenge!  I hope to get a laptop on "tax free weekend" so I can at least visit you when I have a minute and not have to carry the baby upstairs.  There will be challenges ahead, but that's one of the things that makes life interesting.

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you are all staying cool!

Enjoy!

Playing with Scraps

My blogging friend Sue, from Sharing what I Love, has issued a challenge the past few Sundays to make a card or cards from scraps.  I made these cards for the challenge a couple of weeks ago and never got to post them.  It's too late to link to Sue's challenge, but here they are....

and this

and this....

I have some scraps laying out for this weeks challenge.  Maybe I'll get a chance to put the card together.  Then the ribbon I'll need is at the new house.  Nothing like a challenging challenge is there?  You may see that card in a few weeks.  If it doesn't get lost in the move!

I've got to pack up the rest of my stamping stuff tomorrow so there'll be no escaping from the craziness for a few days!

I did get to hold that precious new grandson for a while today.  How sweet he is!

Thanks for visiting today and for the lovely comments you have left.

Enjoy!

LEGS

I have missed creating cards, blogging and most of all visiting your blogs.  It's been a crazy few weeks and we still have the move in front of us.

Last week I didn't get any cards made.   I especially hated to miss the Less is More challenge since I've been with them from the onset.  This week the challenge is to do a ONE LAYER CARD and they want to see SOMETHING WITH LEGS.  And I'm so excited that I got to do a card for it!

I travelled to Roanoke Rapids last Saturday to stamp and share with my friends there.  One of my friends brought this set of flapper lady stamps.  (I didn't see any labels so I don't know who made them.)  I had taken a peek at this challenge before I left and knew that this lady would be perfect.

After I got home, I added the rhinestones and scoring to jazz it up a bit.

I hope I get to share something else this week and maybe visit some of your blogs.  Between my slow computer and all this stuff that needs to be packed, I'm not sure how much I will get to do.  Be sure that  you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Enjoy!
