There's only 4 more days to order from the Summer Mini catalog. That means that The Open Sea stamp set will be sailing into retirement. What a great set for masculine cards! So before we say bon voyage, here's one more clipper ship.
You may have guessed that this is a Less is More card. Today's challenge is a
RECIPE
Take 3 Challenges
We want you to choose 3 from any of our previous 29 and combine them in your design.
I chose Week 7-Masculine card, Week 12 Off Centre, and Week 18 Monochrome
I threw in Week 22 Shades of Blue and Week 29 Things that Move
Did you notice that the sails are full?
Maybe you can see it better here. I stamped the ship twice and cut out the sails from one. Then I cut dimensionals itty bitty and popped the sails up. The SCS Free 4 All challenge yesterday was to do a stacked card .
Stack a paper shape to make something. A flower, a bug... use your imagination.
I'm not sure if the sails qualify for this, but I'll enter it and hope for the best.
Card Recipe
Stamps: The Open Sea, Happiest Birthday Wishes (New Hostess set)
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Naturals White, Night of Navy
Other: Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Nesties
Today I had my first Stamp and Share in my new studio. I invited two of my neighbors and I think they had a good time. They made some beautiful cards! It's always fun and inspiring to stamp with others! It was a Hurricane Party of sorts although we didn't get much of a blow here. We were blessed. East of us there is a lot of damage with trees down, power outages and flooding. Let's pray for those who suffered damage and also those still in the path of this powerful storm.
I'm so glad you stopped by today. Wish you could have come to stamp with us.
Enjoy!
I love that image! What a great guy card! {I'm a new follower.}
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you weren't too badly affected by Irene... we can only pray that people stay safe in its/her path.
ReplyDeleteYou had a lot of fiddly cutting for these sails Bonnie, but it's really effective. Super card.
Thanks so much

Hi Bonnie:)!! Wow...5 challenges in one...what a handsome ship...love the embossing behind it and the shades of blue...they fit sooo perfectly with the "man theme"!! Our nearby neighborhoods were spared, but some areas close by didn't fare as well...it has been a time of great thankfulness for our family:)!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. This is a gorgeous masculine card.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I loooove how you popped up those sails, Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you were spared the effects of the storm! Hurricane can really be nasty! I think Ivan was the worse for us.. It hung over us and beat on us for about 12-14 hours!! Pensacola was devasted!
ReplyDeleteYour card is just beautiful! Cutting our out those sails must have been time consuming! (but so worth it!!)
