Snowman Queen

This is for the Queen for the Day last week at SCS.  Queen Sue (Mrs Noofy) had a lot to choose from.  I ended up choosing this card to CASE.

My friend Jan left me some of her Christmas toys a couple of weeks ago.  She said she wouldn't have time to play. This embossing folder was one of the gems she left with me.

The Color Challenge at SCS this week was perfect for this card: Real Red, Basic Grey, Gumball Green.  Dessert is SNOW. How perfect it that?

Pixie's Crafty Workshop is still open, so I'll take my snippets for the scarf and little snowflakes over there.

Rudolph Day Challenge is wrapping up the year.  I'm late to join this party, but I'll be looking for it in January.  There's a chance for a prize over there so you might want to take a look!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  More Merry Messages, Jolly Bingo Bits
Ink:  Real Red, SU Markers (Basic Grey, Real Red, Gumball Green, Pumpkin Pie)
Paper:  Whisper White, Gumball Green, Snippet of Real Red
Other:  Dazzling Details, Big Shot, Bitty Banners Framelit, Snowman EF (Sizzix), Tiny Snowflake punch (Dollar Tree Find)

I really need to get my Christmas cards in the envelopes and mailed out.  I may have to stop playing with the stamps for a few days.  Maybe I can....

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!

  9. Hi Bonnie

    Another great Christmas card!

I have the die for this snowman and have never thought of putting a face on him so that he is facing the other way. I have only ever seen him as having his back towards me. Doh!!!

Might have to play with that idea.

    Loving all your dinky snowflakes.

    Love Jules xx

  10. He looks like he's been made out of the snow that's falling. Very clever. x

  11. Oooh, this really is fabulous Bonnie. I adore your snowman with his snowflake tummy :) A perfect card.

Ha, I know what you mean about writing and posting cards when it means stepping back from the stamping and making for a while :)

    Hugs, Di xx

  14. Before I forget, your styling snowman card is so fun and so lovely!!

(Your comment on my post just now made me LOL! I can't believe you used the pronoun "we" re decorating the tree, however! Real or artificial, I can't even imagine Mister touching an ornament. First, he would drop them all from his big paws and second, everything would be hung at his chest level. You know, like how everything is hung at the bottom of the tree by the little ones? That whole visual picture gave me a chuckle, so thanks for that. I think I should edit my post to add a bit about how you stand back and hubby rotates the tree from the bottom until you're satisfied and 99% of the time, it ends up in the position it started from!

And thanks for the tip on the B&B balsam oil! Good luck with little Jack and the decorations. It wasn't that long ago that my decorations were very abbreviated for the same reason (x 2)!

Good thing there isn't a word limit on comments.)

  16. The embossing folder has worked a treat. Did you reverse it for the snowman? He is rather a cutie. Love his thin arms. hugs Mrs A.

  17. Write 5 cards, stamp a bit, write 5 more? On second thoughts, maybe not the most efficient strategy.
Love this jolly chap with the snowflakes embossing folder.
