It's been a busy few days but I did manage to get some cards made. I think it takes longer to get the photos and editing done than the cards! Here's a couple that I did this week.
And thanks for stopping in today.
I keep seeing Soft Suede these days and I've gotta say that I'm liking it more and more. It's a good thing since the Dynamic Duos challenge this week is....
And the CAS challenge at SCS this week is
Clean and Simple Featured Player Challenge
I've been a fan of Gails for a while now and I enjoyed the excuse to CASE one of her beautiful creations. This is the card I chose.
I stamped the Medallion a couple of times. Here's what came of the second try.
The Technique Lover's Challenge, also at SCS, this week is
Play with Balance
use a stamp, image, diecut, etc. too big and one too small to create a perfectly scaled design!!!
I used a sentiment from the Teeny, Tiny Wishes for the too small and the Medallion for the too big. I'm not sure of the outcome. It may be a bit too CAS even for me.
I stamped the Medallion in Crumb Cake first and then overstamped the flourish from Everything Eleanor in Soft Suede. Rhinestones were colored with a marker and placed randomly to add a little more balance? There are rhinestones on the first card too. They don't show up well in the photo though.
All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted
Card Recipe
Stamps: Medallion (retired), Everything Eleanor, Close as a Memory (retired), Teeny, Tiny Wishes
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White (card 1), Whisper White, Soft Suede (card 2)
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Corner Rounder Punch (card 1)
I have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love in your comments and CASEing of my cards both here and at Splitcoaststampers since I was named as Featured Stamper. Words just can't express how it has warmed my heart! A big inky hug and thanks to all of you.
And thanks for stopping in today.
Enjoy!
Ooo, I love 'em both!! I must say though, the second one caught my eye. Being a CAS girl too, I love the white space. Really well balanced--great layout!
ReplyDeletePS: I don't know about your neck of the woods, but I think we're about to get hammered down here in SC. Stay safe!! :-)
beautifully done!! love the medallion done in the kraft color. (i CASEd the same card for the CAS challenge and almost used the crumb cake/soft suede combo!)
ReplyDeleteJust love this card, Bonnie. The mix of images is fabulous and you used the colour combo wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and classy! Sympathy cards are so hard for me to make! You did a fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous - elegant, soft and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards, Bonnie! I still can't believe I never bought the Medallion stamp! What was I thinking?!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. ;-) You used these colors to perfection. Thank you for joining us at Dynamic Duos!
ReplyDeleteThis is Gorjuss, Bonnie! I am obsessed with proportion, and this is perfect in my book. I so wish I'd bought this stamp.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards! Love those colors together.
ReplyDeleteLynn
These are so absolutely striking, Bonnie! I love how you layered one image over the other :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so striking, Bonnie. Beautiful work on the CAS cards. I really like soft suede even if I don't use it a lot.
ReplyDeleteAre you having bad weather? We had a tornado warning at 3:00 a.m. this morning...not good. But, everything is o.k. I'm sure there was some damage due to high winds but nothing horrible. We have stick all over our front lawn.
These are both beautiful cards!!! Especially love the first one!
ReplyDeleteThese are really beautiful, Bonnie! Even the one that seemed too CAS for you is stunning in these warm colors! I'm glad you are basking in the love!!
ReplyDeleteBonnie this is simply stunning! Love your selection on stamps and the added touch of bling is perfect. Great us of this week's colors. Thanks for playing along at Dynamic Duos.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful stamps, great colors.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! You are an inspiration to me!
ReplyDeleteBOTH are stunning....what a great combination of colors and patterns! I have to admit I love the second one best!
ReplyDeleteWell it's not too CAS for me Bonnie and of the two it's my favourite! Looking at all the wonderful DD cards this week, I think I might need to re-ink my Soft Suede ink pad!
ReplyDeleteLovely card. Those two images work well together!
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you've used! I must say that I have a strong preference for the first card - it looks much more balanced to me. I haven't done a card for the Technique Lover's Challenge as it doesn't work for me - I always want my sentiment to be somewhat in proportion to my image! Which is why I love your first card as it is perfect!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are gorgeous. I love the swirls and the rich colors.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, these are beyond gorgeous. I am awed at how you used both these stamps to creat such a classy, put-together card. It's perfect as a sympathy card. And Congratulations on being chosen as Featured Stamper but I sure do understand your win. Your cards are stunning. I always enjoy a visit to your blog...such inspiration. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure which card I like best, Bonnie, they are both just gorgeous. Fabulous use of the Medallion stamp and of this week's colours. Thanks for sharing your cards with us this week at Dynamic Duos.
ReplyDeleteYou make CAS look so easy with these gorgeous cards Bonnie! I'm swinging towards your first card more for some reason. I don't ever use this medallion stamp - I forget I have it really - thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteHey Bonnie, thanks for your comment on my blog. Ha ha I had to update to remv that guy on there He was too much of a bar fly. Not my style. Hugs, Bev
ReplyDeleteLOVE these cards, Bonnie! Both are simply amazing! Love the simplicity and the color combo!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love it when a pretty card can be used for two different occasions? This turned out so pretty with the medallion and flourish!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful Bonnie! Love that color combo with the beautiful medallion! And I agree, I spend as much or more time getting my pictures right than making the card! haha!
ReplyDeleteAnd the well-deserved hits just keep on coming! Congratulations, Bonnie, for the wonderful honor of being a DD Darling!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being one of this weeks Dynamic Darlings. I love this card and your style. I am your newest follower.
ReplyDeleteLoved your first card when I saw it at DD, but my CAS loving heart likes the second one even more - the element of surprise with the teensy sentiment.
ReplyDeleteI think you've managed the challenge brilliantly with big and small. Very classy. x
