The Merry Monday challenge this week is a sketch challenge. This is actually the second card I did for this challenge. I was inspired by this card by Sue who was the Featured Stamper at SCS last week.
Other: Window Frames Collection Framelits, Snow Burst EF (retired), Small Star Punch, (retired), Basic Pearls, Kars Snowflake EF (Cuttlebug)
Have a marvelous Monday and thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy!
Here's the sketch that Lesley gave us to work with.
I used the thumping technique on the pine bough inking first with Old Olive and then "thumping" the Always Artichoke marker on the stamp before stamping.
And here's the first card I did. After 2 tries, I still wasn't really happy with it. But I thought I'd share it anyway.
I colored the stamp with markers. Here's a close up. Don't laugh too hard.
Somehow it seemed like there were too many legs for those camels and I had a hard time deciding which legs went with which camel. A good reason to use this as a silhouette. I'd wanted to try this since I got the stamp. I'm over it now.
Be sure to check out the rest of the design team cards.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty card, Bonnie! I love the green against the white and all the embossing! The green really pops! Beautiful pine image with your cute, sparkly star! Love this!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week! :)
Oppsie, I wanted to comment on your second card in my post. I really love what you've done with that stamp set! I love all the bright colors, embossing and your pretty star! I think it's a keeper, Bonnie! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your pine bough, berries and the dangly gold star Bonnie. Lovely CAS card.
ReplyDeleteThese are so very classy, Bonnie! You're second card looks very impressionistic, and I really love it – I'm so sorry you weren't too happy with it. Both are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI just saw this sketch and kept thinking - what could I do with it! And here you are with two wonderful and pretty cards! Love that first one and the embossing. The second one - I had to laugh with the "too many legs" on the camels! It's beautiful and love it colored up! Two lovely cards.

So sweet Bonnie, I love the bling star hanging from the branch and your second card is wonderful too!!
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie, I love both of the cards but that first one is too cute with the pine boughs and hanging star.
ReplyDeleteBonnie any cards you make are always lovely. I love the one you chose and that gold glitter star is awesome!
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards, Bonnie! Just love the first one with the shiny star handing down and the partial of that pine tree image.
ReplyDeleteYou really nailed it on the CASED card. I checked out Sue's & both your cards were just so lovely. Good sketch and great follow through too. Now, I liked your colored camels. I could see the problem with the camel legs, but ONLY after you mentioned it! Don't think I would notice if you hadn't said. Liked this card too. TFS & I loved your snowy EF!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, what a sweet card! I love the magical star elegantly hanging from the evergreen branch! The gently falling snow in the background - lovely card!
ReplyDeleteWell I love the card you used for MM with the pine bough! It's just gorgeous! But I do think the ones with the wise men are quite pretty too!
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh...I love both cards and I think you did an amazing job inking that second set...I laughed because you said "You are over it now"...LOL!!! You are awesome Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lesley
Love your hanging star from your branch and the embossing. x
ReplyDeleteLovely cards Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteThe card you chose to post on Merry Monday is fabulous - I love everything about it. I'm so glad you chose to make a second one as I agree that the camels look odd! The pine bough one is going into my favourites for future inspiration! Now off to rack my brain for what I can come up with for the Merry Monday sketch.
ReplyDeleteWonderful card Bonnie, this image is fabulous and I love the star.
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful! I am not laughing. Love the one with the star hanging.
ReplyDeleteUr funny Bonnie! I just love your first card with the swinging star! I really love the pine bough - it's a great stamp!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I love your pine bough and the sparkling, dangling star. What a beauty!
ReplyDeleteNow, I don't see too many legs. LOL The card is great.
