Carnival Carousel

There are a couple of challenges this week that have to do with carnivals.  So I inked up my Carousel Horse again.

I grew up in a really small town and the annual carnival was something special.  I still remember the smells and sounds and the fun of riding on the carousel.  (We called it the merry-go-round.)  I remember how exciting it was to go fishing for a cheap little toy that we treasured.  What wonderful memories!

I've tried coloring this image in the past and it wasn't pretty.  So I left it as a sketch and added some color with ribbons to imitate the banners and bright colors.

  7. The image is fabulous left with no color. The ribbon/banners took care of the color. Fabulous card, Bonnie.
Oh, it's almost time for the fair to come to our city (Sept.) and I haven't been since my boys were little. But, I remember the fun.

  14. Love what you did with this stamp. It's one I have as well, and have never done it this way before. After seeing how pretty it is, with the bright banner trims, hmmm...idea time. Lovely, and I remember those same local carnivals, the cheap toys that we were always so proud to take home. Must have been small town America. TFS a beautiful card and a sweet memory too. Hugs
