There are a couple of challenges this week that have to do with carnivals. So I inked up my Carousel Horse again.
I grew up in a really small town and the annual carnival was something special. I still remember the smells and sounds and the fun of riding on the carousel. (We called it the merry-go-round.) I remember how exciting it was to go fishing for a cheap little toy that we treasured. What wonderful memories!
I've tried coloring this image in the past and it wasn't pretty. So I left it as a sketch and added some color with ribbons to imitate the banners and bright colors.
CARNIVAL
All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted
Card Recipe
Stamps: Carousel Horse (Inkadinkado), Morning Meadow (Hostess set)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), SU Markers (Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie)
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black
Other: Snippets of ribbons
I hope you're having a great weekend. Thanks for spending some time with me.
Enjoy!
Beautiful image, it looks perfect uncoloured.

ReplyDeleteLove what you did with this stamp. It's one I have as well, and have never done it this way before. After seeing how pretty it is, with the bright banner trims, hmmm...idea time. Lovely, and I remember those same local carnivals, the cheap toys that we were always so proud to take home. Must have been small town America. TFS a beautiful card and a sweet memory too. Hugs
