For Queen Cindy

Here we are already to the end of the Queen for the Day's reign at SCS.  This week our honoree is Cindy aka frenziedstamper.  Every time I look through her gallery, I see something that I missed. What a treat!  This is the card that I chose to CASE.

And this is what I did....

I pulled out one of the watercolor spotches backgrounds that was hiding in my UFO box.

Addicted to CAS has a good challenge.  I need some get well cards in my stash.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Thoughts and Prayers Thoughtful Messages (Hero Arts)
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper:  Whisper White, Shimmery White (for watercolor), Basic Black
Other: Re-inkers, Aqua Painter

Jack is still breaking my heart with his crying when I leave him at preschool.  But today they said they got a picture of him smiling. There was a picture on the door of Jack and another little guy.  Jack had laid his hand on the other's shoulder and through his tears said, "Mommy with be back."  Made me want to cry.

Next week will be easier.

I hope.

So glad you could stop by.

Enjoy!

  5. Oh Bonnie...your Jack story broke my heart...you see, after 2 weeks of school without problems, Little Mr P has decided that school is too long and he does not want to go. I think he is exhausted! He looks handsome and self assured on the surface but is a worrier underneath.

He is struggling to get through the day as he likes to do everything perfectly and that is hard when you are tired. He seems to feel he should be friends with everyone in the classroom and only know three boys names.

It does not help that his big sister is in Grade Two and does know everyone in her class room as she has been friends with them for 3 years.
Yesterdzy and today, he has tried so hard to hold back floods of tears and has clung to me just before time to line up saying that he does not want to go. He does not actually cry out loud...just shaking shoulders and tears running down his sweet face...

I know what you mean when you say it is so hard to walk away!

Your card and the one you CASEd is gorgeous. Love the inky beauty of the background and that tree is so perfect with this.

  6. Lovely card Bonnie. I'm sure Jack will settle soon. My eldest son was like that when he started preschool but went on to love it and school too. Can't believe he's nearly 41 now!

  9. Bonnie, what some beautiful colors you achieved. Super card!!
Oh, poor little Jack. I know that is so sad. When my boys were little, the oldest always cried when I left him at school or anywhere else. Just pitiful.

  10. I remember my son's first day of Kindergarten. When he got on the bus, the other moms were so happy to see their kids go; but I nearly cried as the bus pulled away. I was especially sad that the state was taking my child. He later went to Christian school. He's 43 now with his two in Christian schools, so he turned out ok :)

  13. Oh, you made me nearly cry with this little Jack story. Poor little fella, bless his sweet heart. I know that must have made you nearly weep. Loved your card, went back to read the tutorial. TFS the instructions. The colors on this one are so cheery that it's perfect for a get well. (Make one for little Jack that says "It's gonna get better & be fun". TFS & Hugs

  14. It breaks a teacher's heart too, when children have tears at the end of the day. Be assured he settles fairly quickly and that his days are full of joy. Love your card, Bonnie. The colours are amazing together.

  15. Gorgeous! Why haven't I tried this watercolor technique? And I know that Jack will get used to preschool...just the fact that he's comforting someone else is a testament that he's acclimating!

  16. I love this, Bonnie! The background that you have created with your watercolor technique is so vibrant and perfect as a frame for that tree!!

I'm sorry that your wee Jack is struggling. I'm sure he will adjust. It's a testament to how sensitive he is - and how thoughtful, too, with the other little boy. Still, it's so hard to see them cry. Hugs, Darnell

  19. Poor Jack, poor you...I was the same way many moons ago. Mom mom carpooled with antoher parent or two. We went thru several mornings of my crying until they realized that it was ok for me to leave my mom when it was my neighbors turn to drive, it just wasn't ok for my mom drop us off and leave me, then i cried. So nice neighbor became the morning driver and my mom became the pickup person.
Hopefully everything will get better for the two of you!
