I had put this stamp in the to go pile.
Then I saw the challenge that my friends at
had put up and I pulled it back out.
Then I saw that my friend Brenda of Benzi Stampz
called the challenge at SCS for the CAS challenge.
I can't get the photo of the challenge colors to show for some reason.
They are beautiful shades of blues from light to dark and brown.
Dessert is to add a bird. I don't get dessert tonight.
is celebrating their 5th birthday!
I had a bike blue bike when I was about 12 years old.
I'd saved all my allowance and birthday money for ages to be able to buy it.
About 2 months later, I crashed it.
I was sure flying before I crashed and still remember the exhilaration!
But bike riding was never as much fun for me after that.
Now when I see the kids with helmets on, I can appreciate the safety they add.
I'm sad that they'll never feel the wind blowing through their hair though.
So glad you could stop by.
Enjoy!

Bonnie this is such a sweet card. I too got my first bike (used) at age 12. I had it for about two days and it was stolen, but it was found about a week later. Bike riding was my favorite childhood toy and I rode for miles.
ReplyDeletewow, gorgeouse CAS. card, so glad you played along with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!
ReplyDeletesparkl & shine *~*
Oh, Bonnie, I'm so glad you played in the CAS challenge with those pretty blues and browns. I love your card and that basket on the bike is so pretty. Love the little bunny, too.
ReplyDeleteSo sad about your bike. Hope you weren't hurt too bad. I had kind of a bad experience like that...doing something my parents told me not to do. :-(
I don't know about riding a bicycle any more but do love this card! CAS and fantastic!!!

Hi Bonnie...I just joined your site, and want to tell you I love your bike card!!
ReplyDeleteSo Gorgeous Bonnie! Love the bike, and the way you colored is so Fabulous :)
ReplyDeleteA really neat card Bonnie. Some good memories from that stamp and card.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Really sweet Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteGlad you pulled this out of your donate pile ... fun card! Love the blue and brown colors ... and love the image on the stitched mat.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a big crash ... too bad there wasn't helmets back then, although sometimes I think kids today take more risks because they have safety gear. Hard to say. Anyways, too bad about crashing your bike after saving up for months to buy it.
Gorgeous card Bonnie - I love the beautiful scene and your colours are lovely:) hugs xx
ReplyDeleteMaybe no dessert for you today but that sure is a cute card. I had to chuckle that you pulled this out of the to-go pile. Gosh knows I've done that myself many a time.
ReplyDeleteAs far as bike riding goes, I loved it as a kid and rediscovered as an adult, until I learned this adage the hard way: It's all fun and games until someone loses a gall bladder.
Your gall bladderless friend,
Judy
Such a super card, Bonnie! Love the bunny next to the bike & your stitched layers!
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you re-discovered this beautiful stamp Bonnie. The blue and brown colouring is fabulous, and it's perfect for the "wheels" challenge at ATCAS!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining us again - Sylvia xx
LOVE this Bonnie, the stitch mat is so effective with it. Great colouring. I think you should keep that stamp LOL.
ReplyDeleteI can remember coming down a steep hill on my bike, with my legs splayed, exhilarating to say the least. (Before the days of lots of cars LOL.)
So cute!! LOVE the image!! And the story of the bike too!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove that bike image...such a sweet basket!
ReplyDeleteI love to ride bike. My first bike was a pink banana bike....good memories. Too bad you crashed yours!
Love this card Bonnie! I love that bike image and the cute bunny sitting by the bike. I think a lot of us can appreciate how we rode our bikes back then-loved having my hair blow in the wind too. lol But then when I had kids I appreciated the helmet's as the times change and made my boys wear them. Just not the same as when we were kids. *sigh* Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, a fabulous card - I love the CAS style and such a wonderful image, lovely colouring!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
hugs
Heather xx
Fab CAS card Bonnie..I fell off my bike many times when I was little LOL but your right about the feeling of wind in hair :) huggles Sue xxx
ReplyDeleteWonderful card Bonnie! Glad you were able to use your stamp one last time. I got my first "big" bike when I was 12. It was a big too big for me and I crashed royally going down a rather steep dirt/gravel road. Thankfully my pumpkin was okay but I lost a lot of skin :o( I hear you when you say that bike riding hasn't been the same since - LOL. Hugs D
ReplyDeleteLove this image!
ReplyDeleteLove your memory too. My bike is turquoise and I yearn for the day I'm able to ride it again.
Laura
I love that Serena Dipity stopped by and helped out with this adorable card, Bonnie! (You should have drawn some wings on your sweet bunny for the dessert option. Hammy) I hope you're having a great day! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteCute card.
ReplyDeleteLove this stamp, the bunny and your sweet bike story. So sad you crashed it though. I feel the same way about the helmets. Beautiful clean and simple card!
ReplyDeleteAdorable image with the bike and the bunny. It reminds me of an old-fashioned illustration so it's perfect that you kept the colours quite muted.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie so glad this stamp was rescued from the "To go" pile its loss was our gain. Such a lovely stamp and beautifully colored love the sticking too. Thanks so much for your continued support at ATCAS and good luck.
ReplyDeleteMarie
As always Bonnie - fantastic and isn't that bunny a cutie pie!
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
What a treat I've had in store this evening, as I've been surfing some blogs to return visits. I saved your blog for last, and was delighted to see I've got some fun ahead. Love these stitched images & mats you've done on the bicycle card. The colors are so subtle and just right to allow the bike to take center stage. The blue & brown colors are so very pretty. That little bunny is very eye-catching at the wheel base, and liked the loose sentiment tag too. Enjoyed reading the story about your bike adventure. TFS & Hugs. Happy Easter too. Off to enjoy some of your other beautiful cards that I've missed lately.
