I'm finally catching up a bit on the
Online Watercolor Class
On day 8, Lauren Bassen showed how to paint using a stencil.
I used an embossing folder as a guide instead of a stencil.
I dry embossed onto watercolor paper and colored with re-inker and my Aqua Brush.
I really need to try this with watercolor paint.
I know my ink colors so I automatically go to them.
The little dragonfly is stamped on vellum to give the wings a transparent look.
Now I really want to watercolor and nothing else.
But I need to cut sets for a class coming up this week.
Then I'm going to play!
Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy!

This is so beautiful!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely and what a fun and innovative way to use embossing as a guide, I like the added dimension through the dragonfly :)
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this embossing folder but it is perfect for this technique. The coloring is wonderful and the addition of the dragonfly is so special (I didn't want to say wonderful again. lol)
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNice job on this, Bonnie! They make it look so easy in class but when we go to try it on our own... Go, girl!
ReplyDeleteExcellent Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Bonnie. I don't know if I could have done that with dry embossing. You did a wonderful job.

Beautiful water colouring Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colouring and card, I know just a small amount about watercolouring as I went to a class many years ago, so can see why you are so enthusiastic about it.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Bonnie! The dragonfly is a nice touch, too--looks realistic. You're right about how the classes make everything look so easy, but it takes a lot of practice to get watercoloring techniques down. I'm still working on those lessons. What a great way to paint a scene with your ef!
ReplyDeleteOh My! This is beautiful Bonnie. Love it.
