Take Care with Love

Just popping in with a quick post to join in at
 ANYTHING GOES
with an optional twist of love
to celebrate DT member, Marina's upcoming wedding.

I like to do calendars for some special people
and DH likes that I keep one on my desk.

This was February's picture from last year.

Since this is a snippet from last year's calendar, I'm going to go play at

I hope you are enjoying holiday festivities.

We had our annual "Cookie Day" yesterday.
It's a day for all three of our daughters and our grandchildren
to spend the day with a sugar rush and,
as our oldest daughter says,
"making cousin memories".

This year the 2 youngest, Jack and Emmy,
were interested in doing some crafts.
We had so much fun!
I wish I had gotten some photos, but when the kids are here,
the camera is hidden.

I did get a photo of some of the ornaments they made.

Needless to say, I will be finding glitter well into the new year!

I may change my name to Sparkle!

The older boys found Pop's record player and old records.
I'm talking vinyl here.
They also discovered the speed button and thought it was great fun
to play the 33 1/3 speed records at 45 and 78.
It kept them entertained for hours!

Who needs new toys?

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

  3. What a perfectly cute snippet card. I recycle calendar pictures too, but this one is just adorable. Love the extra details you've added to make it all your own. Also loved your pretty Grandchild ornaments. What a clever group of crafts you're bringing up. A little Sparkle will be worth the fun you had. I can just picture them with the vinyl & changing the playing speed. I'm surprised they knew what a phonograph was! It's hard to find turntables now-a-days. We have a neighbor who searches them out, and restores them for collectors. He's been eyeing ours, that is about 30 yrs old (still works though!) One day I'm going to take the vinyl and transfer to the computer & then put on cds, and get the dust collectors out of the house!!! Merry Christmas, Miss Sparkle. TFS & Hugs too (and thanks for the prayers.)

  6. Cute card with a great theme Bonnie (I mean Sparkle!). Love the look of the glittery stars - but loose glitter is a big no-no for me!!!!

Happy Christmas to you and yours xxx

  8. Wonderful makes there Bonnie! And I did laugh about the record player. Waaay back in my teens I had to spend school half terms with guardians as my parents were back in the UK and I was still at school in Germany. I remember my 'Uncle Frank' playing his 33's at 45 to entertain me - we still talk about those days!

    Hugs

    Di xx

  9. What a beautiful card Bonnie! Love the color combo and love those hearts! How fun your day sounded!!! The sparkly stars are fab and I love that the boys entertained themselves with the record player. Yep, my kids have no clue what a record player is, or records for that matter. lol I bet they have tons of fun playing those records at different speeds. I know we did as a kid. Gosh remember when the Beetles on song came out and it was rumored that if you played it at a slow speed you would hear a hidden message?!! lol Gosh those were the days! Have a very Merry Christmas Bonnie!!! Hugs, Brenda

  11. I must remember to use kraft cs more often - it is so effective. I love your card - the image panel is perfect with that sweet bird and the blue spritz.

I have a young friend who likes to do crafts with me and glitter is her favourite thing - she goes home covered in it and then people comment when I go out that I have glitter on my face or in my hair!

    I remember playing 33 1/3 records at 45 and 78 when I was a kid!

  13. A bit of nostalgia going on here. We used to play the 78 and 45 at the slow speed too. We used to find our own amusements. Those were the days! Wishing you a Merry Christmas. Hugs Mrs A.
