This is a piece I did during the Watercolor for Cardmakers - Intermediate class
that I took a while back.
I still haven't done all the homework.
It's a good thing I can go back and do it at my own pace.
Anyway, this was an exercise in Watercolor Wash.
After it was dry, I stamped and embossed this flower then added
Memory Box butterflies.
I can add this to the beautiful gallery at
Outside the Box: Challenge #9
I've got lots of pink on this card!
I can also take it to
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
INSPIRED BY A SONG
for the song Butterfly Kisses.
I'm not sure which came first, the song or the card?
and
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
ANYTHING GOES
Only a few more days until the start of
CAS Mix Up
This is a sample of a CAS Mixed Media card using
watercolor, stamping, heat embossing, die cutting and a few sequins for added texture.
Loll (Stamping with Loll) and I hope you'll join us there on March 1st.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Love the watercolor wash and colors with the pink set off with the white. Soft and soothing yet very eye catching. You are the "watercolor queen" in my eyes!
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie, I adore this gorgeous card, that water color wash is just lovely with the beautiful embossed flower and your butterfly fluttering by. I have not quite achieve the skill to do washes like this, I'm always to nervous to mess it up, I think you need to know what colors go together well to do this the right way. You obviously have this skill under your belt already!!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask you how did you get your water color panel not to warp? did you press it down while drying? It looks beautifully flat.
Thank you for sharing, you definitely will get an A+ on this card.
You handled those washes very well and it made for a gorgeous background too! Why buy Designer Paper when you can create something like this!!!

ReplyDeleteThat wash is perfect, Bonnie. It pays to have good paper and paints. I love that flower embossed at the bottom to give it an airy look. Looking forward to the new challenge.
ReplyDeleteExcellent work with the ombre look of this wash. Love the delicate butterfly, but also like the additional white stamping with the pretty flower. It's beautiful. TFS
