Botanical Bloom for CAS Mix Up Reminder

We're halfway through November already!

There's still time to join in at CAS Mix Up

I had a Christmas card ready to share today, but was in the mood to do
something a little more feminine and fun.

I used my MISTI to stamp the large flower first, inking it with markers and
adding color with my Aqua Painter.  I find that smearing some ink from
the markers on a piece of laminated card stock and picking the ink up
with the brush gives me more control.

While that was drying, I stamped the flower on a sticky note and
cut out the larger pieces to use as masks.

Once the masks were in place, I stamped two other sprigs from this fantastic Altenew set
using the same technique.

I put the masks back on the flower heads and threw some splatters on for good measure.

These bright flowers make me smile.

There's lots of masking techniques.  This is my favorite.

There's some video links at the CAS Mix Up challenge site if you're interested.

I'm going to enter this at the Altenew November Challenge too.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

  8. What a refreshing break from fall and Christmas card looks! This card is so beautiful. Clever way to use masking for 2 stamps ... adds so much interest to image. I like the image offset to the side of the lattice EF piece. You never miss with the WOW touches (smiley face).

  9. I like your card design with the offset embossed mat. The vivid coloring is beautiufl, and the narrow black mat sets it off beautifully. TFS.
