Hello, friends.
Look what I found.
In all the hustle and bustle of the season, this card sat on my table disassembled.
As the piles of to do stuff dwindle, I'm finding all kinds of things I was going to do,
things I need to do, and things I should have done!
This was pretty quick to put together.
I had die cut one of my favorite Penny Black dies from snippets of
watercolor paper and used Loll's Watercolor Smoosh Technique to add color to the pieces.
For the background, I used a Watercolor Resist technique since my intention was
to add it to the CAS Watercolour gallery. It's bad when you're late to your own party!
I heat embossed the background on mixed media paper.
When it had cooled, I brushed clean water over it and added some color
from my Gansai Tambi watercolor set.
(The colors are listed below.)
I kept adding bits of color here and there until I was happy with it.
I'm not too late to enter it at
WINTER OR CHRISTMAS
Those snippets of watercolor paper will get me into
where it's hopefully not too late to join in the fun!
is asking for our favorite Christmas card from 2016.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Hi Bonnie
ReplyDeleteA really beautiful card .. .. I love the colours very much.
Surprising what we find when we have a good clear up. I can't even get into my craft room at the moment it is piled up with all the things I have had to move into there so the Christmas guests could stay .. .. I wonder what I will find? LOL!!
I hope you had a really lovely Christmas and wish you all the best for 2017!
Love Jules xx
Sounds familiar. I have loads of unfinished creations, especially Christmas cards. If I manage to get them done, I will have a wonderful headstart for next year lol. Yours turned out great.

This is gorgeous, Bonnie, and I'm so glad you found it and put it together. The background is amazing with so much depth.
ReplyDeleteVery glad indeed that you turned up this little jewel. The background is perfect to show off this wonderfully dimensional & colored flower. Love the way the petals sort of 'curl' just like a real petal would, and it's lovely & full. Looks so pretty with the framing as you've done it. TFS &Hugs

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. Love the background and the embossing. I think we all have some of those to do projects that haven't gotten done.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year my friend.
Very pretty! And good for you for using up the bits and pieces on your desk. Me, I'm thinking about burning the ones I have and pretending that they never existed.
ReplyDeleteYour background is amazing! The colors so beautifully permeate each and are so beautifully matched. I also like embossed frame, as in the ancient image. A flower Penny Black is my favorite model. Beautiful card.
