We're halfway through the month and there's still time to join in at
CAS Mix Up.
I stamped the snowflakes and heat embossed with silver.
Then I used a sponge dauber and sponged some Pool Party ink in the center of each snowflake.
For the largest one, I put the dauber down in the center and twisted. Then I pulled the color out toward the edges just a bit.
The background is a piece of vellum over the white card.
It adds a misty look like a snowy day, don't you think?
By cutting the vellum half an inch longer than the card front, I was able to wrap it
over the top and adhere it to the back. I also used some adhesive under where the design piece would be to hold it steady to the card base.
The design is on a piece of silver foil. The camera thinks it's black.
We did a similar card for a recent card class. Here's a peek.
It's not quite CAS. Just a bit too much going on.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

TFS both your beautiful cards Bonnie. I wondered how you had attached your vellum, TFS your trick. Your 1st card is such a wonderful CAS design. Hugs, Nancy
ReplyDeleteSuch a creative and beautiful design Bonnie. And a great way to add sponging! Love both version. On the first one, the plain vellum does as a soft look ... misty is a good way to describe it. Isn't it funny how your camera played with the silver foil frame?? Looks good, even if it was black. :)
ReplyDeleteThe second version is so pretty with the layers and the striped vellum. I bet the girls loved making this in class. xx
I love both cards. That vellum really finishes that winter mood, great idea (thanks for the tip) :D Now for those silver snowflakes, well that sponging gives them Heart ....cooling effect, perfect! HUGs xxx
ReplyDeleteThe effect is very striking and a good choice of colour too. hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful cards Bonnie! I love the simplicity of both of these cards and of course am in love with those silvery cool snowflakes and sponging! Hugs, Brenda

Such pretty snowflakes Bonnie and the sponging works really well. TFS the other card and the stripes complement the snowflakes beautifully. x
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are lovely but my favourite is the one with the vellum - love the frosty look of it. Great way to use sponging to just highlight the stamped snowflakes and sentiment! And I love the aqua and silver colours together.
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards here Bonnie, love them both equally ;) Viv xx
ReplyDeleteYour sponged snowflakes are so pretty. I have yet to get a card done for this challenge, but hope to get to it this week.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Bonnie!
