I recently watercolored some long ago stamped pieces.
I painted this little guy as what we refer to as a LBJ (Little Brown Job).
We're using corrugated cardboard this month at
CAS Mix Up
so I added a cardboard mat and heart.
I really like the added texture and color of the cardboard
on this card.
My mixed media are stamping, corrugated cardboard, watercolor,
distressed edges, tearing and dry embossing.
Here's another card using this stamp.
this time it's a chickadee.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Sweet! That bird is so adorable. The corrugated card really does add a lot of texture and dimension ... makes a great frame. And love the watercoloured chickadee ... we have lots of those around here. Love the sound they make ... chick - a - dee - dee - dee. :) xx
ReplyDeleteWE both go back a long way with SU Bonnie. I had to look..Touch of Nature has the date 2005 on this wood stamp :-) I have never thought to color the bird like a chickadee..thank you for the inspiration. Both cards are so different and so beautiful. I love your corrugated background and heart on your 1st card and your gorgeous coloring and framing on your 2nd card. TFS my friend...I left my stamp set out!! Maybe you will see me use this beautiful set in the future :-) Hugs...
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards, Bonnie! Thanks for inspiring me to pull out that stamp set again. Love how you made the bird a chickadee. We have lots of them here in our yard.
ReplyDeleteI love birds, real or painted, and these are exceptional, Bonnie.

ReplyDeleteTwo really gorgeous cards, Bonnie! I love how you added the corrugated mat and heart on the first one, and your CAS design on the 2nd card is so elegant! Thank you so much for always inspiring us with your beautiful designs!
ReplyDeleteI like the LBJ bird the best. We have many of them in the area. That corrugated cardboard sure brings out the nature feel for some reason.
ReplyDeleteLove that bird, perfect tones recalled by the brown corrugated card mat. The torn corner just adds to the beautiful relaxed watercoloring. The card base is a great finishing touch too! xx
ReplyDeleteLoving the birds and that brown corrugated cardboard behind. Very nature friendly!
