I didn't think I'd get a card done for Merry Monday this week,
but I got this idea and you know how that goes...
I knew I wouldn't be able to think about anything else until I tried it.
Fortunately, the idea worked out.
Here's the Merry Monday Challenge that Marcia chose.
My background piece is Inka Gold Smoosh with blue and gold.
(Not exactly turquoise but pretty close.)
The tree is die cut from copper foil.
I used a Floating Inlaid Die Cut technique that I first saw Nancy Stislow do.
Of course I had to get that die and CASE her tag.
Enjoy!
Card Recipe
Stamps:
Ink:
Paper: Naturals Ivory (retired SU), Copper Foil (SU), Mixed Media (Strathmore)
Other: Woodlands Die (TH), Inka Gold (Steel Blue, Gold), Acetate
Wow ... gorgeous colours from your inka gold background Bonnie. Those colours look so good with the copper accents. Great job with the floating die-cut. I haven't done that yet, but it is SO COOL!! Nancy is one talented crafter and I am always inspired by her makes. She is good at enabling too! :) xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a very clever design Bonnie! I LOVE that the die-cut is half inlaid and half floating and it looks great in copper against that beautiful background you created! I hope you're having a great weekend! Luv n’ Hugs. Hazel xx

Nancy - I love this bg and the copper tree is so perfect - what an eye-catching card! Thanks for mentioning linking to the CAS mix-up challenge on my card at splitcoast. I thought I had linked up already - but had actually linked to the watercolor challenge by mistake - so now I fixed it - thanks!! And thanks for the nice comment too.
ReplyDeleteWOW...this is absolutely GORGEOUS Bonnie! I had to enlarge your photo so I could see the technique you used and I'm blown away...it is so cool!! And I just love that tree in copper! Stunning card my friend!! Thanks so much for joining us at Merry Monday! :0)

ReplyDeletebeautiful, beautiful card Bonnie - looks like a winner to me!
ReplyDeleteso pretty, I just love the colours you used.
ReplyDeleteOh, Bonnie, this card is literally breath taking. I can't stop looking at it. The bg -- the foil -- the die itself and the inlaid technique from Nancy -- the whole thing. And, honestly, a nice break from CAS allowing for an almost full card size bg, which looks like such a beautiful, realistic sky with your smooshing. You topped yourself with this one, and that is saying something.
ReplyDeleteLove the copper on the blue, a beautiful card.
