I got out my watercolors and an NBUS stamp yesterday.
I tried inking with Distress stains but I ended up coloring the stems red
as well as the flowers.
So I went back in with markers.
It's a little messy.
I used MISTI to stamp. That way I can go back and get some details
after moving the color with water.
I pulled some of the color out and around the flower to
give it a loose look. That way the messy seems intentional.
Maybe...
I plan to give this to our neighbors who are moving soon.
We are sad to see them leave.
They have admired my red geraniums each summer so
I thought this would be appropriate to wish them well.
Inside I added this message....
Many people will walk
in and out of your
life, but only true
friends will leave
footprints in your heart.
Eleanor Roosevelt
Since it's flowers for friends, I'm going to run over to
TIME OUT CHALLENGE
'Flowers and friends make life a garden'
THE FLOWER CHALLENGE #9
And since geraniums are my summer flower of choice,
I'll put this is in the gallery at
CAS WATERCOLOUR
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Bonnie, the soft colour around the image is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle at your 'maybe'! That's card-making for you! So fun messing around though and your card is beautiful Bonnie! I love geraniums! I gotta scroll back up and see who it's from! :D
ReplyDeleteA beautiful watery look to your inking Bonnie! the geraniums look so pretty! I'm sure your neighbors loved this card from you - so sad to lose good neighbors! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and very artistic Connie!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card! I love the messy, watery look, especially for geraniums. I love geraniums, but from a distance because they have such a dusty paper smell that my asthma can't handle. So many influential women in my life had geraniums, so good memories there (just don't breath them!).
ReplyDeleteI love how you coloured your beautiful geraniums, Bonnie. They are one of my favourites and I just bought some lovely red ones to go in the pots at the front of my house. Thank you for visiting my blog!
ReplyDeleteJust love your geraniums, Bonnie! So gorgeous with the watercolor shadows!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful geraniums Bonnie. Your card is lovely. I have such a hard time with loose watercoloring, but yours is amazing.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I absolutely love the loose watercoloring on this! I have not succeeded with this but you managed beautifully! Love the rich colors too!
ReplyDeleteBonnie this is gorgeous - love the 'loose' watercolouring!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
Oh they will love this card! Such a pretty watercolor flower and with that sentiment inside... I foresee teary goodbyes! :) Thanks for joining us at TIME OUT!
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty, Bonnie. I love the watercoloring outside the edges and your "deliberately" messy look. And I think I need this stamp :) I love geraniums.
ReplyDeleteI love your watercolor cards. I love how the paintings are surrounded by a delicate mist created by the work of water. Great card.
