I don't usually post twice in one day but I wanted to join in
at the Memory Box Challenge
and time is running out.
I've used three Memory Box Dies on this card:
Windham Collage, Kaleidoscope Butterfly & Moonlight Butterfly.
I pulled out my Alcohol Ink Panels and used one behind the lattice
and another to cut the top butterfly. The bottom of the butterfly
is from a snippet of heavy vellum.
I wanted some gold splatters but was afraid of messing up
the whole design. So I dripped a bit of Gold Color Shine
on a plastic lid, dipped a micro applicator into the gold and
lightly touched it on the panel.
I might add that I held my breath while applying the gold.
Whew!
Then I walked away and let it dry.
I'm learning.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

This is so pretty! LOVE the colours of your AI panel ... looks amazing behind the lattice die-cut. And great layout having the AI panel offset from the card front. xx

Gorgeous card. Love the pretty background and the die cut that showcases it. Beautiful butterfly too. Have a great weekend my friend.
ReplyDeleteThat collage die is fabulous and your alcohol ink background looks great against it. I know exactly what you mean about gold splats, after completing the card. Such a pretty card Bonnie and do like the blue butterfly against the background...looks great x
ReplyDeleteI love this background and the card. Such pretty colors peeking out through the lattice die. I need to learn to walk away and not use everything on one card just because I have it! The gold is a nice addition and does not detract from the beautiful butterfly.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous AI background for your lattice die cut, Bonnie. Love how you extended your background for a thin border. Beautiful butterfly too my friend.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about your splatters. Your technique worked well. I have a couple of tricks that have worked for me. Use a gel pen to lightly touch CS for splatters or dip the tip of a stylus into acrylic paint. TFS your beauty. Hugs...
Absolutely love your design Bonnie - and the colors are great!!

ReplyDeleteI have a couple of TH dies that cut corners like that and you've given me a way to use some of my backgrounds, Bonnie. I love that purple peeking through and I'm glad you used the gold sparingly.
