Hello, friends.
Summer is here!
Wouldn't it be nice to be sailing across the cool water
with the sun shining overhead?
I've never been on a sailboat and probably never will.
But I can dream.
And I can make a very simple card that speaks of summer on the water.
I pulled a Brusho background out, die cut this awesome piece from black,
added a little glue and a sentiment and I was done!
The Brusho crystals were sprinkled on watercolor paper and spritzed with water.
My grandson, Jack, likes to help me do this so I have lots of backgrounds.
We're doing Summer Watercolor at
CAS Watercolour
MASCULINE
LET'S TAKE A VACATION
Enjoy!
Card Recipe
Stamps: Fun Birthday Sentiments (HLS)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Watercolor (Strathmore 140 lb. cold press), Basic Black (SU)
Other: Out to Sea die (PB), Brusho Crystals
It may be quick and easy but looks so dramatic. your placement of the yell for the sun is perfect. love the card :)
ReplyDeleteCard says so nicely and smoothly "ahhh, summer". The die cut from black totally makes it over that wonderful brushos background in the perfect colors.
ReplyDeleteLovin' the cut out effect over the delicious seascape.

Well done Jack on helping with the background stash. Striking card, love the background colours and the black against it certainly pops off the page. Keep dreaming xxxx
ReplyDeleteLove the colours of your summer ocean scene, Bonnie. The black die-cut really makes the other colours pop. Gorgeous design. xx
ReplyDeleteYour Brushos background was perfect for your pretty seascape CAS design, Bonnie. TFS my friend. Hgus..
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie I love the background on this - I received my order of brushos just the other day and have had one 'play' - and used the results to make flowers. Fascinating effects as the brushos dissolve!!

Love the pretty background you used for that intricate diecut. Very unique.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card. Your watery background is perfect for showing off this die. I'm with you, sailing sounds so peaceful and lovely but I'll probably never do it. With my luck, the wind would change and the sail would swing around and clock me in the head.
ReplyDeleteAren't brushos wonderful for those quick but truly eye-catching backgrounds! Love the black die cut against it!
ReplyDeleteStunning background for your sea silhouette, Bonnie - just love this!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card. The brushos made a stunning background and I love that sailboat die. One summer I sailed off Long Island Sound and it was the most calming thing I've ever done. Sun, water and breeze - wonderful. This brings back such great memories. I had to laugh when you said Jack loved to help with brushos and you had a lot of backgrounds! You are a fun grandma to let him play.
ReplyDeleteThis card is so different from your previous cards! But he is madly beautiful! I love how you created the background, such beautiful sun! Great, great card.
