Salty Joy to the World

Hello my friends.

I have another salty card to share.

My friend and teammate Christine (It's a card days night) is the Featured Stamper at Splitcoaststampers this week.

Woot, woot!  Congratulations, my friend!

I'm CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) this card.


To make this background, I wet a piece of Arches watercolor paper and dropped in color
from my Gansai Tambi watercolors.

While it was still wet, I dropped some Sea Salt on it.

This is what it looked like after it had dried and I scraped the salt off.


I thought it looked very wintry.

I had this wonderful die cut that my friend Susan sent me (thanks again Susan).

All I had to do was cut off a piece of the salted background and pop the die cut on top.

I'm going to take this over to
Rudolph Days
where it's anything goes Christmas.

    Wow ... lots of reaction from the salt ... your watercoloured piece is AMAZING! LOVE that sweet die-cut from Susan. I have to buy that die!! So happy for Christine to be honoured at Splitcoaststampers ... so deserving. Great CASE of her card, Bonnie! xx

    Hi Bonnie, what a fabulous card. Love the stunning effect you got from the salt (I really must give that a go) and the die looks wonderful against that background. Have just followed you but for some reason I'm one of your 'incognito' followers... I guess google thinks my picture too awful to show, ha ha xx

    I'm not sure if I would have cut that piece down, the salt effect was so beautiful but the final card is out of this world.

    What a fabulous wintry effect on that glorious background. The salt technique really does lend itself to this type of scene and you really have nailed this technique. Such a beautiful and unique card x

    Well, I bought this stamp on sale and was quite taken aback when I saw how small it was and cast it aside.
    Will certainly be using it next year now that I have seen your lovely creation. Beautiful card and thanks for the inspiration.

    WOW, Bonnie! Your background is so beautiful! So incredibly colorful! It looks like some mysterious smurfing garden :-) It creates a beautiful contour with a white winter landscape. I love your card!
