Guest Designing for Inspired By All The Little Things

Hi there.

I'm so excited to share that my good friend Darnell invited me to
be a Guest Designer for Inspired By All The Little Things.
This is an inspiration challenge started by another
very talented friend, Lesley Croghan.

Of course I said yes!

Here's the challenge...

and here's my card...

My eyes immediately found those cream and rust colored mums.

Being a CAS girl, I chose to go with one and clear embossed the mum
on hot press watercolor paper.

I used watercolors and re-inkers to get some of the rust color in the mix.

I've got to tell you, I ended up with a hot mess!

So I tried stamping a different mum....several times.

Nothing was making me happy.

You know that feeling when it's just right?

Well it wasn't coming.

My eye kept going back to this hot mess and I had an eureka moment!

I didn't have to use the whole messy piece.

When I held a circle die over it, it didn't look half bad.

This made me happy.

Being a guest designer makes me happy.

And this will make my sister happy, come her anniversary.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

  5. Our Darnell knows how to pick 'em! You're a WOW for the GD spot, and this gorgeous mum made ME very happy. Love the autumn rust with the cream, and your watercolor work always looks tremendous. Love your save, I find it very inspirational that my gurus run into some of the frustrations I do too. Also I learn a lot by how the save is done...probably more from those than the 'perfection' ones. The cream and rust colors are gorgeous on this wonderful image, and of course I always love the stitchy dies. Well DONE! And Congrats on your impressive stint as GD. Hugs.

Love that pool of vibrant watercolour around the white bloom ... it has such a fantastic sense of depth (a bit like the pensieve in Harry Potter!), seems I could just dive in! Hugs, Anita :)
