It seems like the year just started and, whoosh, it's almost gone!
And it's Christmas card time.
It's time for our last CAS Mix Up challenge of the year.
Updated to add the card with a red bird.
I think I like it better.
Using stamping, heat embossing, Distress Oxide Slash technique, glitter and die cuts. |
We're making it easy for you this month.
I used Loll's Splash Technique with Distress Oxides on Tim Holtz Specialty Paper.
This technique is so much fun and you never know what you are going to come up with!
I used Iced Spruce and a tiny bit of Antique Linen for this piece.
The tree was done by adhering some sticky sheet to a piece of cardstock and
sprinkling some fine white glitter over the sticky once the liner was removed.
It has a real icy look to it.
Seeing the photo, I think I need to add a tiny red bird.
What do you think?
As always, our Design Team has some wonderful inspiration for you.
Our Guest Designer is Ina (Litttle Bits of Craft) and I know you will love
her inspiration piece as much as I do.
I hope you'll be able to join us this month at
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!
Card Recipe

Ink: Iced Spruce, Antique Linen (DOX), VersaMark
Paper: Solar White (Neena), Specialty Paper (TH), Adhesive Sheets (Sizzix)
Other: Woodlands Die (TH), Glitter (MS), Emerald EP (Stampendous), Stitche Squares Die (SSS)
Your beautiful background looks perfect with the sparkly tree, Bonnie. Both have an icy, cold winter day look. I think it looks great the way it is, but red would give it a pop of colour. xx
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Bonnie! Love those wintry grey-blues. I do agree with both you and Loll that a small pop of red might work really well in your design.

Gorgeous soft Splash background with your DOX inks, Bonnie. Love your icy die cut tree too. TFS your beauty my friend. Happy Holidays. Hugs..
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to add a bit of Antique Linen to the Iced Spruce - a combination I wouldn't have thought of but am going to try. Love the sparkly tree. It would be interesting to see what a little red bird would do to the card so if you try it, please post a photo - I'm off two minds as right now, it is a totally icy frosty feeling that I love.
ReplyDeleteLovely background and sparkle. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteWhat a GORGEOUS card Bonnie! I love your background and the sparkly tree (don't you just LOVE that die?!!) adds the perfect touch to this lovely card. And I like it just the way it is without a pop of red, but I'll leave that final decision up to you! :0)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Bonnie, that background looks like a misty icy forest! Love the tree and woulk like to see what the pop of red looks like, I think the card is perfect as it is though, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Bonnie, so misty and hunting. I love the effect you got with Loll's splash technique.
ReplyDeleteAn absolutely stunning background for that ever so cold icy tree Bonnie. Beautiful in all it's glory. Love it the way it is but like the others said - interesting to see a wee red bird. Do show us if you decide to maybe temporary attach to see the difference. Perfect sentiment to match your tree.
