Blogland is all atwitter with a new challenge!
You can tell it's going to be a fun challenge by this delightful badge.
And it's brought to us by none other than your good friend and mine, Darnell.
Congratulations on this super challenge, Dolly
and that fantastic Design Team!
Here's my Twofer....
The prompt for this month is
And I just so happened to be playing with a feather die.
This card was one of my class cards this month.
The feather was die cut from some Rustic White cardstock, dipped in VersaMark,
and heat embossed with some gold. The Happy Birthday sentiment was heat embossed too.
And this feather was just for fun!
This one was cut from a piece of Inka Gold Smoosh and placed on a
piece of Mulberry Paper. I found the card front with the
Thinking of You sentiment already stamped on it.
One more thing out of that UFO box!
I hope that it's OK that they're pretty much the same layout.
This is a wonderful idea for a challenge! It will encourage us to use a
stamp or die at least twice before it's tucked away.
I have another feather waiting in the wings, but that will wait for another day.
See you over at the Twofer Challenge.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteyour card classes must be so much fun, I love the partially embossed feather it's so elegant especially with the script background and what a beautiful Inka gold smooshed feather. I always forget to pullout my inka gold. I love both cards :)
ReplyDeletetwo wonderful cards, Bonnie - especially love the gold tipped feather card!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous beauties! Love the gold on the feather on that one card but they're both so very pretty!

WTG! Love both of these. I have the Bigz TH feather set cut out, made some foam stamps with the die too. Now trying to think of something to do with the resulting products. Really love your ideas on each of these too. The mulberry paper looks so vintage behind the feather. Good for you at joining in! TFS, Hugs & Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! Lovely job with that pretty die! I was just working on this challenge as well, it is a good one! Have a good night.
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful! The gold dipped feather is especially lovely and so elegant. Love the texture on the card with the mulberry paper.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful feather cards Bonnie!! LOVE the first one with the dipped and gold heat embossed tip ... how cool is that??!! Looks so beautiful on the script background. And I love your second card that is fun, bright and so fresh with all that gorgeous white space! The mulberry paper makes a beautiful background for your turquoise and white feather. Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! I am really enjoying this new Twofer Challenge, such a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. Love the pretty feathers and the design of each one. Naturally the blue one caught my eye. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Wow...gorgeous feather cards, Bonnie. To my eye, they looked very different even if a similar CAS design. Loved your gold tip 1st feather and your Inka Gold smooshed 2nd card on your pretty textured mulberry paper. I thought it was tissue paper at 1st. TFS your inspiring beauties my friend. Hugs..
ReplyDeletegreat feather cards Bonnie...love to see the same die used in different ways...well done mf.

Two fabulous feather cards, Bonnie! Love the gold dipped feather & the blue on mulberry paper - very cool design!! Will have to check out that challenge.
ReplyDeleteTwo great looking cards in keeping with your "S + S" style...simple and striking...my 2 cents worth on best way to describe it. Very practical and fun new challenge by Darnell.
ReplyDeleteI thought of doing gold dipped and yours looks beautiful, Bonnie, with the script behind and the kraft frame. The edges of the mulberry paper look like the edges of feathers and bring a softness to the blue die cut feather.
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful, my friend and so different. I really need more time in your craft room so your inspiration will seep into me! lol
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you embossed just the top half of the feather in the first card! And the second card is gorgeous with the feather cut out of inka gold - and the mulberry paper is a great background (I have some and always forget about it so must be sure to use it soon).
ReplyDeleteDespite the fact that they are very similar in construction, these cards are so different! The first delicate, innocent. The second card toned down, but has the masculine element. Great!
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Two beautiful cards, Bonnie! The gold dipped white one is so gorgeous against the scripty background ... and I love the softness of the mulberry paper with the delicate inca gold smooshed one! Thanks so much for playing along with us at our inaugural Twofer Card Challenge! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI love the result you get when you colour just the tips of feathers and yours are both fabulous. Always a winner heat embossed in gold. Love the simple background. Your smooched feather is in such a gorgeous colour and what a perfect backing with the mulberry paper. We need to use it more again. Nice framing on the background finishing it off perfectly. Love them both Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so classy and elegant. What a great new challenge and such fabulous cards you've created for it x Yey to using up something from the UFO box x
ReplyDeleteI really adore the look of feathers dipped in metallic medium like yours on the birthday card! Together with the script background and the neutral color combo it makes for an elegant card that reminds me of the good old days, when people used to write with feathers...
ReplyDeleteAnd the white and aqua card looks so fresh and fun! Did you really use mulberry paper? I still have lots of it somewhere - thank you for reminding me. It looks beautiful as a background to your feather!
Thank you so much for joining us in the very first Twofer Card Challenge!
Two gorgeous feathers Bonnie and I love the script background on kraft card and the gold embossed tip to the feather stands out beautifully, and then the really pretty turquoise smooshed feather looks great over the mulberry paper, love the embossed frame around each of the cards too. x
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful, creative designs you came up with, Bonnie! Love the gold on the first one along with the script in the background. The mulberry paper and the wonderful blue looks fabulous on the second one too.
ReplyDelete2 completely different cards buit each as beautiful as the other, gorgeous designs on both.

Two great feather cards, Bonnie! I love both the partially heat-embossed feather and the Inka Gold Smooshed feather! The cursive letter sentiment background and the Mulberry Paper add softness to the card and amplify feather's fluffiness. Hideko xx
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards Bonnie. Love that feather die.
ReplyDeleteThis is just freaky-deaky, Bon-Bon! I ran across my albums of cards I made back in the way back and lots of them had mulberry paper, which I love and have a ton of, and I thought, "we need to bring back mulberry paper!" And here you are! You have started the movement! Isn't that ESPish?! I love how perfect it is on that white card based behind that gorgeous smooched aqua and touch of gold! It is all tied together so well with the TOY from your UFO box!
ReplyDeleteYour gold-tipped beauty is a similar layout, but it is a rich and striking birthday card for either gender! I love the feather against the text and the base of kraft. Thank you so much for the shoutout and for playing with us at Twofer! Big hugs, Dolly
Both of your feathers are dressed up beautifully! I love the gold tipped and end dipped paired with the classic beauty of kraft and white! Your turquoise with a golden spine looks amazing on the mulberry! Thanks for joining in on the fun at Twofer Card Challenge!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie! Love the strong handsome feather die cut, and the way you used it so differently on both cards. The gold is striking and elegant, and the aqua so bright and artsy. Both gorgeous cards!
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful cards, Bonnie. Two awesome colour combos. Love how the feathers are partially coloured.
ReplyDeleteHugs Trina xx
