This time I played with something new to me.
My dear friend Loll sent me some Lindy's Magical Powders and I had fun playing with them.
I sprinkled some Sassy Sapphire on a piece of coated paper and spritzed.
I moved the color a bit with a waterbrush to get the powders to blend with the water.
Then I laid a piece of cling wrap on top, wrinkling it up good, and let it dry.
I wish the camera would show you the shimmer. It's really pretty!
I found some birch die cuts in my UFO box (yes I still have stuff in there) and
popped it on top. (Thanks, Nance)
I saw that my good friend Marcia is hosting at Merry Monday this week
and asking for turquoise and red. So I die cut a cardinal to add
to the birch tree and stamped a sentiment in red.
CAS Mix Up is having so much fun using Cling Wrap this month.
Challenge is open until the 24th
I found another piece of smooshed cardstock in my stash and did a second card too.
I'm trying to get lots of Christmas cards made through the year so I won't
be caught short again.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Yes, I got caught short this year to with my cards...So one of my goals is to try and make more Christmas cards through the year too.
gorgeous, love the blue sparkle (I have Lindy's magicals :)) and the perfect white trees in front.
ReplyDeletetwo wonderful cards, Bonnie - I was going to do a card like this for MM only didn't have a bird that was small enough for good design. love that cling wrap background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Bonnie. Your backgrounds are so lovely. Never heard of Lindy's Magical Powders. Thanks for joining us this week at Merry Monday.

Bonnie, I love how you've combined a beautiful frosty background with white tree silhouettes. It looks very beautiful. And the red birds add attention to the card. These are unique cards!

After seeing this, I'm going to have to try some of those powders! Love the wonderful effects of them and your white birch tree die cut looks beautiful on this. Love the tiny splash of red with the cardinal.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. I need some of those powders also. Your backgrounds are lovely and the pop of red with the birds and sentiment is perfect. Thanks for joining us at Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteBoth these cards look so good -- artsy and clean and a refreshing change for a Christmas card look. You and Loll spot such good products...these Lindy powders are going on my check it out list.
ReplyDeleteSuperb, Bon-Bon! I'm pinning this one. Those bgs are so easy to make and I love the look of just the turquoise for a stunning frosty Christmas card background behind the stark white birch trees! The pop of red takes it to another level!! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteJust love both cards, Bonnie - beautiful turquoise backgrounds for the delicate birch trees & I love the pop of red birds!!
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards - I've pinned them! Love the turquoise being the predominant colour and the red just the sentiment and little birds. Also love the way you added detail to the birds.
ReplyDeletep.s. If you're like me, probably your UFO box will never be empty!!
WOW...both of these are absolutely GORGEOUS Bonnie! Your turquoise background with the magic powder and clingwrap came out so pretty and I love just the small pops of red on both cards too! Lovely, lovely cards my friend and thanks so much for sharing with us at Merry Monday!! 😊
ReplyDeleteThere’s that Magicals product again... I am going to ask Loll to show me this intriguing product at our next get together. I’m sure the shimmer is stunning IRL. Great use of UFO. The turquoise/red colour combo is perfect with these birch trees and red cardinal. I’m hoping to make Xmas cards throughout the year too.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week. Trina xx
What a neat technique Bonnie and great results! So glad you joined the Merry Challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely Christmas cards Bonnie, perfect for the colour challenge this week at Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteTwo beauties, Bonnie! :) Wonderful design for this colour combination. Love both beautiful backgrounds with the white birch tree die-cuts. The pop of red with the birds and sentiment are just perfect. xx
ReplyDeleteBoth cling wrapped and smooshed backgrounds are so beautiful, Bonnie! Shimmer of the Magicals must be really pretty in real life. Love the pop of red (you added the lines to the cardinals!) against the turquoise bg and the white birch trees! Hideko :-)
ReplyDeleteYou've got to love those magicals, so much you can do with them and I can imagine the shine...so pretty. Gorgeous cards and great colour combination x
ReplyDeleteJust read about these powders on Loll's blog... I'm really intrigued...love everything that shimmers... Your background is spectacular, no wait, the whole card is!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, love the birds on the tree, they pop! Way to go!

I got that birch tree die just before Christmas. I love it over your wonderful Lindy Magical background, Bonnie, and the cardinal makes it perfect. I love to see their red feathers perched in a snow covered tree.
ReplyDeleteI love both of these beautiful blue backgrounds Bonnie, and the little red birds and the red sentiments stand out so prettily against the white of the birch trees. Gorgeous! x
