I have another Twofer
I designed this card for my last class.
I removed the stamp from the wood block so we could use the MISTI.
I inked the hearts and stems then spritzed with a little water.
Usually I get too much water and it doesn't work well, but surprisingly,
I got it just right this time!
For the class I had the ladies ink, stamp and use a waterbrush to
eliminate possible frustration.
My splatters even worked well. Whew!
I thought the hearts looked a little like butterfly wings from the side.
So my Twofer was born.
I inked party of the top heart and stamped then drew the body and antennae.
Since all butterflies need flowers, I stamped these little gems from a
Penny Black set and stamped them using Distress Markers.
A little smooshed ink on a palette and my water brush colored them in.
Both challenges end on the 24th.
Enjoy!

You never fail to inspire me with your wonderful cards and ideas. These are both cute as can be and a very clever way to use the hearts.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Bonnie. I love how you made the butterfly with the heart stamp, very creative. Love the colors too.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, these are such pretty cards! Those heart flowers are fabulous, and I love how you've watercolored and splattered your panel. Sweet green border, too! Love how you've turned the one heart into a butterfly for your second card. These both have lovely colors, and wonderful designs. Great scoring on both, too. Thank you so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev
ReplyDeleteVery clever to make the butterfly! Lovely job with these hearts!
ReplyDeleteI love the artsy heart card ... looks hand painted (well, it basically is). Gorgeous with all the white space to make the hearts the star. And your sweet coral card is adorable with the heart butterfly. Love those cute flowers and your coloured card stock base. Two beautiful cards Bonnie. Thanks for joining us at Twofer Card Challenge! xx

Thank you so much for playing along in Twofer Card Challenge #2 again!! Mwah! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Bonnie! These look fantastic! The artsy heart flowers as well as the butterfly card! And how different they are from each other! I might not have recognized the heart in the butterfly if you hadn't made these for the Twofer!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at the Twofer!
Very clever use of that stamp - I wouldn't have thought it was the same stamp if you hadn't done it for the Twofer challenge! Love both the colour combinations!
ReplyDeleteWhat great use of the hearts stamp Bonnie - and two beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
The hearts turned flowers look great in that technique, Bonnie. Turning it into a butterfly took imagination and you made it work beautifully with the accompanying flowers.
ReplyDeleteFantastic card and so out of the box too with your butterfly card, love it! Fantastic CAS designs and I love the score lines.
ReplyDeleteClever use of the heart stamp, Bonnie! Actually you used the stamp so well that I had to look twice to see which stamp you used for both cards. The water spritz and ink splatters are perfect for the heat flower card. The butterfly is so pretty in Cracked Pistachio. The scored borders are a nice accent. Hideko xx
ReplyDelete2 great cards (yes, I love the spatters!) and the spritz-ink is a wow factor on this pretty heart floral. I've yet to have the courage to remove any image from a wooden block, but what a good idea to use with the misti. Really liked how you used the same image to create the lovely butterfly. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea to use the heart from the flower as a butterfly viewed from the side Bonnie, and the embossed lines and pretty pink flowers on the second, and more embossed lines on the first are great finishing touches. x
ReplyDeleteHow clever are you thinking way outside the box with these remarkably beautiful cas cards Bonnie. Love the sheer simplicity of your 2 heart card. Beautiful stamp in such gorgeous colours then you go and turn that heart around and blink! there is a beautiful blue butterfly. Lovely spray of flowers. So eye catching with the wee black border. Adding the scoring - perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness - how clever Bonnie! I was looking and looking and thinking what is the Twofer! I didn't notice the uneven sides on your hearts until it was on its side! Two beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late commenting Bonnie...I go away for a few nights and I am playing catch up x Such an artsy and wonderful first card. Great splats and just the right amount of water on those hearts. Don't you just love it when it all come together? Such a fun idea on the second card and love the colour on the background card stock too x
ReplyDeleteSo fun and creative. I thought of heart butterflies, but not from a side view... I like that so much better. Beautiful twofers!
ReplyDeleteMany congratulations for the shout out over at Twofers Bonnie with you clever and creative cards x
