And would you believe that I sent an announcement for next week's class with a date of March?
It's been quite a week!
I woke up this morning thinking about a piece of an inked embossing folder in my stash.
I was remembering right and found it.
I cut it in half and got my two Christmas cards for this week.
Excited to see that this was a winner at Merry Monday!
Come see....
and this one with a snowflake that seems to have landed a bit hard and wonky!
I'll have to see if I can adjust that before I send it.
If I remember correctly, the embossing folder was inked straight from the inkpad and
spritzed with water before embossing.
The snowflakes were cut from silver foil and Glimmer paper.
I embossed the sentiments with silver on vellum then folded it around the
embossed pieces and added the die cut snowflakes.
Two more for the stash.
Merry Monday #275 Hosted by my friend Sue.
Penny Black Saturday Challenge : Anything Goes: Optional Use some scraps (the snowflakes were die cut from bits and pieces with PB dies)

These are so pretty, Bonnie. I love the delicate pink, it goes perfectly with the white and silver. The vellum strips look really lovely. xx
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Love that technique and you've inspired me to try it again!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pink inking around the embossed snowflakes, Bonnie, & I love the layered snowflake die cuts too!! So fun to see your cards at MM!!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! I don't think your snowflake is wonky; the card I posted today has one part of its snowflake "waving" at me...sticking straight up! AND I invited everyone to my customer appreciation party with the wrong date too....February instead of January. Happens to us all!
ReplyDeleteLoll, this is so beautiful, I love the soft pink and the white of the background. Such a gorgeous card. Great die cut snow flake :)
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty cards. Love the pink background and the silver snowflakes. Thanks for sharing these lovely cards with us at Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteso great that you were able to get two such gorgeous cards out of the pretty pink snowflake embossed piece!! don't you just love it when that happens!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the soft pink combined with the sparkly snowflakes...and am big time impressed with how you are keeping your commitment to do Christmas cards each week to save frenzy in December.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Bonnie. Love the soft colour of pink with your snowflake embossing folder. I can see that I need to buy that EF!! It's beautiful. If I remember correctly, this technique is called faux letterpress. Also at SCS, when it was a very soft colour, it was "inspired by Belleek", that gorgeous Irish porcelain. And that's exactly what I would say about yours ... it's so pretty and soft with the perfect adornments of vellum and your glittery and shiny layered snowflake. AMAZING design, my friend! xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful Christmas cards Bonnie, so pretty. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday this week.
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful!!! Love the soft color. So delicate looking and pretty.
ReplyDeleteSlow down and enjoy the day now.

Both of these are just beautiful, Bonnie. I am fond of nontraditional Christmas colors. Sure don't see where the snowflake landed "hard and wonky," Love the look of both of them with the soft background.
ReplyDeleteWow these are so beautiful!! Well done!!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL cards Bonnie!! LOVE the soft pink background...perfect for ALL your lovely snowflakes! Thanks so much for sharing with us at Merry Monday!! :0)
ReplyDeleteSo soft and pretty, Bonnie. Thanks for joining us this week at Merry Monday.
ReplyDeleteTwo stunning cards, Bonnie. I love them both!
ReplyDeleteThe snowflakes over the vellum sentiment strip are gorgeous and look great on that lovely inked EF.
Goes to show you still have ideas when you are sleeping! How cool to remember you had this, AND then be able to put your hands on it. The softness of the pink ink on the embossing folder looks so pretty with the shimmery snowflakes. And brilliant that you were able to get 2 cards, each with a rather different look when you changed the gold and silver embellies. I really like how you added the extra small layer to the snowflake too! TFS & Stay dry. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty and soft with the pink, silver, and vellum, and love how you got two from one xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely soft pink - I haven't used that technique for ages but you've inspired me. Great use of the vellum for the sentiment and beautiful sparkly / shiny snowflakes on top.
ReplyDeleteTwo really pretty cards Bonnie. Love the pink and silver.,Congrats on keeping up with the Christmas cards too!
