More Holly for CAS Christmas Card Challenge

Hello and welcome.

I'm decking the cards with more holly.

I used my favorite holly die from Penny Back and die cut from a scrap of mixed media paper.

I lay the die on a plastic lid (half of a broken stamp case) and used
Zigs and a water brush to add color.

The woodgrain background and sentiment square were cast offs waiting to be used.

While I was playing with holly, a friend brought me the die I used for the second card.

I colored it in the same way and added it to an dry embossed piece.

We're using holly on our CAS (Clean And Simple) Christmas cards this month at

We're trying to get a jump on our Christmas cards so we're not
in panic mode when it's time to send them.

We'd love for you to join us.

The challenge is open until the 24th.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

  1. Two more beautiful cards! I've torn this house up looking for my holly stamps so I could play and so far they're missing in action. Will keep looking though. Love your cards.

  2. Lovely CAS Christmas cards. Love the design and the holly dies you used. The woodgrain background really sets off the pretty holly die on the first card.

  3. This is one of my fav PB holly dies too. Love the coloring on the leaves, and it looks stunning over the embossed white background. Also love the outline style of #2's die, equally smashing against the white embossing of the background. TFS & Hugs

  4. I love your woodgrain background and how you placed your beautifully colored die cut holly over your sentiment square. Your 2nd card is a wonderful CAS design too with your dry embossed background and die cut open holly design. TFS Bonnie. Hugs...P.S. clever idea to use your broken lid to keep your dies contained while coloring.

  11. You made a great choice for the backgrounds, Bonnie! They're not distracting but add interest, and perfect for the delicate holly die-cuts. Your Zig watercoloring is so beautiful - the brown, the green, and the red all have depth. Is the broken plastic stamp case the secret? :-D
