I Stamped Serendipity's Dandelion Background with black ink
and heat embossed on a piece of cardstock.
Using the metallic Gelatos, I pressed a bit in the center of each flower and
spread the color outwards with my finger finishing up with
a damp waterbrush toward the tips of the petals.
I found that wetting my finger on a baby wipe helped with the spreading.
The butterfly and sentiment looked fine but I thought it needed
a little something else so I splattered with Memento black re-inker.
I used my box to splatter but still ended up with splatters on my shirt,
hands and even my feet! LOL, I'm still not sure how I did that!
It did add extra interest to the card.
Lots of great use of crayons and Gelatos from our
Design Team and Guest Designer Jenny.
And many more fantastic samples in the gallery.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Would love to see this card up close, I can imagine the metallic shimmer to this beauty. Love that colour combo too. Hope you get the splatters out of your shirt, you are not alone, hugs xx
ReplyDeleteLove how you spread the gelatos on your flowers, Bonnie. I have not seen the metallic ones, but bet they are very shimmery. So pretty with the black accents. Splatters have a mind of their own, don't they??!! :) Of course it would be on a day you are wearing a white shirt. :) xx
ReplyDeleteLove your gorgeous brusho'd flowers Bonnie. Great background for that beautiful butterfly.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Bonnie, I love the brightly coloured shimmery dandelions such a cool stamp. The black splatters pull everything together.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Bonnie. Love the colours. I have to admit, I have no clue what Gelatos are. Will have to get Loll or Christine to show me. 😉 And love that black butterfly... you should enter this in STAMPlorations things with wings challenges. xx
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous are your dandelions Bonnie - they are stunning. It's funny how far ink/paint can go when you are splattering it!!

Such an interesting design combo of the dandelions and butterfly...luv the look. And the technique you used for applying the gelatos. Thanks for your always honest comments ... like about the splatters. Makes me chuckle and feel better about my own fiascos(!)
ReplyDeleteI feel bad about your blouse but the card is gorgeous. Spreading with your finger would make it easier to get color where you want it and I do like the colors you chose.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Love how you did the Gelatos on the pretty dandelions. TFS
ReplyDeleteGreat way to use the gelatos, Bonnie. Such a pretty colour combination!!
ReplyDeleteLove how you have used the Gellato's Bonnie on your beautiful card. Great stamping and such pretty colours. The black butterfly looks so striking and all finished off with those 'naughty' splats x

ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder to get my gelatos out and play around, Bonnie. The colors on the flowers are so cheery and perfect for a get well card.
ReplyDeleteThis is SOOO pretty Bonnie!! I've never seen the metallic and shimmery Gelatos, but think I need to check them out! I love the dandelion image you used for this card too...so pretty with the Gelato colors on them and the vellum butterfly is just the icing on the cake! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! :0)
ReplyDeleteIs there any medium that you don't use!!! Beautiful Bonnie!!

Love this card Bonnie! 2 little bits of trivia - I'm reading the new biography of Leonardo Da Vinci and you are in good company - Leo used his finger to spread paint around too! Also, Dandelion flowers actually look like this close up! Google "Yellow Dandelion" and you'll see lots of lovely close up photos of this pretty little flower!
ReplyDeleteIt was worth being splattered for this card, a wonderful result.

what a great background for your butterfly Bonnie - and great coloring with the Gelatos!
ReplyDeleteLove those bright colorful dandelions! Very springy and I sure like them more on a card than in the yard! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the stamps you have used and your brilliant colouring to make them pop without distracting from the main message.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, I love the contrast between colorful flowers and black elements.
