our safety during Hurricane (and now Tropical Storm) Florence.
We are far enough inland the we were not hit as hard as the beaches.
We've had rain and wind but our power has stayed on and so far
no trees have fallen around us.
We are hunkered down and thankful for our safety and comfort and
sending up prayers for those in the flooded areas.
Now.....
There's still time to join in at
CAS Mix Up.
This month I'm the host and I chose
You may have noticed that one of my favorite techniques is to
ink my stamps with markers.
I like to add a little water to the design, but you don't have to.
But we do want you to use your markers to ink up your stamps.
The flowers were inked with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
You may (or may not) remember this card that I showed last month.
It was a remake of a card that I'd ruined with a smeared sentiment.
I was able to die cut the flowers and use the design on another card.
Lucky me!
This time.
The Design Team, including our fabulous Guest Designer, Chrissie, have
some more wonderful inspiration pieces for you.
Hope you'll ink up your stamps with markers and
join in the fun at CAS Mix Up.
Challenge ends on the 24th.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card and love the die cut shape and matting layer that draws your eyes right in to that fabulous sun flower, so beautifully coloured x.
So glad to know you're ok Bonnie. Thankfully it got downgraded....even though it's still causing so much destruction. Hopefully you won't have any flooding or anything like that.
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty card and the flowers look perfect framed out in theat framework. Lovely!!!
Lynn
You do have a great selection of sunflower images Bonnie!! This is so bright and cheerful. A lovely pick-me-up after a few days of torrential rain and wind. Very happy that you are safe and that your power continues to be on. The storm has been devastating for so many and my heart and prayers go out to them. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat save of an image you'd ruined! It looks perfect die cut down to fit the stitched arch. Love the yellow border layer - such happy colours in the card.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in my thoughts as the storm continues on. May it doe down soon.
That was supposed to say "may the storm die down soon". Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't realised you live in North Carolina. For some reason I thought you lived in a state over on the West Coast. Glad you have not had a full force of Florence and hope the storm continues to die down.
ReplyDeleteLove your card, how could I not love a card with sunflowers! The image is just beautiful and I love the arched die cuts you've used. xx
Fantastic save, Bonnie... although I would have never known. It looks like it was meant to be this fabulous. I find yellow can be challenging but your stamping/shading is beautiful and it has amazing depth. Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you are safe and not affected. Trina xx
Gorgeous coloring on your sunflowers, Bonnie! So glad your safe and sound after the hurricane!!

Yes, I remember that card, Bonnie! You turned the smeared card into this cheerful and beautiful one. I'm always impressed with how well you pull the ink. Love the colors of the flowers and leaves/stalk.

A wonderful blessing to not be touched by the hurricane.
ReplyDeleteLovely sunflower card. It's always a fun flower. [Bunny]
Sunflowers are so cheerful and bright. Yours is just delightful and a great treat from all the rain. I'm so glad you are safe and sound and were able to make this lovely card.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Florence missed you Bonnie. I did in fact look at the map of its route to see if it was near you! Love your bright sunflower card, just what we need to cheer us up! xx
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you could save this image and use it here today Bonnie! love that flat bottom die cut - the watercoloring is so soft and pretty on this! So thankful you are out of harms way with the storm! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteSimpleeeeeeeeeee beautiful Bonnie. Perfectly nested with that perfectly shaped die.
ReplyDeleteThis card couldn't be more cheerful, Bonnie! Love the wonderful, muted coloring on the leaves and the soft wash around the flowers. The image itself is wonderful and looks like it was such a joy to do. I also love the unique framing on this.
ReplyDeleteI do remember that card Bonnie, but thought it was still a beautiful card. I think this one is beautiful too, so it was a nice save-even though I didn't notice the smear on the first one. lol I love the framing of this one, think those dies are so cool. A very cheerful and sunny card with a technique I really need to try as I love the looks you get. Thankful too that all went well for you during the hurricane. This is one reason I don't want to live on the coast-lovely as it is, it is a nice place to visit, but I will stay where I am. Even that is a bit to close to the coast for me. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThis sunny card is totally enlightening, the framing is genuinely executed. I love how you give depth to the pastel stamping. Simply beautiful! xx
