Watercolor Wreath for CAS Christmas

Hello friends.  Welcome!

I'm here today to remind you that there is a little over a week
to join in at CAS Christmas.

When my friend Nance (Soul Stampin') came a week or so ago, she brought
her Catherine Pooler wreath die for me to use.

I die cut some from watercolor paper and had such fun coloring it
with Zigs and a water brush.

I had three cut and decided to stack them all together for added dimension.

The joy is from the same die set.  I wanted it red so I smacked it with VersaMark
and used some red embossing powder I'd bought for doing
the Encrusted Jewel technique.

I thought it turned out quite festive and is still flat enough to mail
without extra postage.

Nance is our host at
CAS Christmas this month.

The Design Team along with our fabulous Guest Designer, Birgit
have wonderful inspirational wreaths to show you.  And there's a gallery
full of beautiful wreaths!

Hope you'll join us!
Challenge is open until the 24th.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

  7. What a good looking card and beautifully colored wreath. Like the falling snow EF setting it off. I like a wreath theme and this is one of the prettiest die version I have seen.

  9. Impressive watercoloring my friend. Love the brightness and "JOY"fulness of this Christmas Card. The dimension adds a lot to it. The dry embossing is the perfect balance too. Another beauty! xx

  11. That wreath is so pretty to begin with, but you elevated to gorgeous status with your beautiful watercoloring, Bonnie! Love the dimension from stacking them. The heat embossed joy in bright red really pops beautifully! xx

  12. what a great mix of plants in that wonderful wreath Bonnie - so pretty in all the different colors! We're getting the sometimes torrential rains today from the remnants of Florence - we lost power for 2 hours after the sky got dark as night and the thunder and rain came but then it cleared - now it's overcast and drizzly - nothing like what hit you but still a lot of water! xx

  13. What I found striking about this beautiful wreath is the mix of the bright green with the muted green. What a great look! That's another idea I would not have had. And of course the use of my favorite folder on your card base is so perfect. Love this !

  15. Beautiful wreath card, Bonnie. I assume this means you haven't had any flooding from TS Florence near your house.

  16. Beautiful wreath Bonnie...loving the water coloring you did with your Zigs! I have this die and really should get it out and play with it again! Too many stamps and dies and not enough hours in a day...what's a girl to do?!! :0)

  17. I LOVE how you colored the wreath, Bonnie! The colors are so rich that I started wondering if your Zig markers were a different kind from mine. ;-P And this CAS card is full of wonderful elements - the triple layers of the wreath, the falling snow embossing in the background, the encrusted jewel sentiment, and the sponged edges of the sentiment strip. Love each element! Hideko xx
