I have another card for CAS Christmas
This time it's a little bird but I think he makes a big impact.
A short time ago a friend came over to play with some salt and watercolor.
She'd never tried the technique and it was fun for both of us to watch how
the salt changed our watercolor as it dried.
I used some pieces for a card for my class.
Here's that card. Another bird.
I had some extra card sets and I wanted to change them up a bit.
You'll be seeing more salted pieces and this layout in the future.
The CAS Christmas challenge ends Midnight tonight (PDT) on the 24th.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Two GORGEOUS cards Bonnie, but I am absolutely in LOVE with the 1st card!! Your background with the salt crystals in the 1st card is absolutely AMAZING and is just perfect for your little Winter scene with the trees and beautiful red Cardinal! Your 2nd card with the dove is also so pretty...two lovely, lovely cards my friend!! :0)
ReplyDeleteTwo different from the salt technique and both are so pretty. I love the cardinal and that background looks like puffy clouds. It is awesome. The dove is so beautiful and that is such a peaceful card.
ReplyDeleteI love those salted skies Bonnie! Absolutely the perfect backdrops for your sweet bird cards. Beautiful! xx
ReplyDeleteNothing is more striking than seeing bright red cardinal plumage in a winter tree. Your salted sky looks very wintery, Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteTwo Gorgeous watercolored sky backgrounds with your salted technique, Bonnie. Your red cardinal really pops! Love both CAS designs, my friend. Hugs..Nancy

Both backgrounds are lovely, and both cards are just gorgeous! BUT...that red bird really steals the show on the pretty white birches. Well done indeed! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards. Love the backgrounds and how that red bird just pops on the first one. A pretty dove on the 2nd one. Love both of them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Bonnie! I love how you have used your birds on this salt watercolor and I have to agree, the red bird definitely steals the show! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful cards here Bonnie ;) Viv xx
ReplyDeleteThese are both gorgeous, Bon-Bon! I love how the salt made it look like real clouds in your first card!! ❤Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteOh that salted background adds so much interest and texture to your cards, Bonnie. The little bird is small intature, but I agree it packs a big punch, especially coloured in red. Looking forward to seeing more of your salted background creations it’s future. xx
ReplyDeleteYou´ve show cased that unique and pretty technique on both of your beautiful cards. One little bird on the first one and yes it sure packs a huge impact x.
ReplyDelete:-) I remember such feathery clouds from the pictures of my childhood. Like wim, how you did it, but your effect is not repeatable. It's called magic to bring back my memories to reality. A wonderful background for your trees and cardinal. I love the second card to.

The timing of the salt on the card's humidity really brings so many surprises. Both are so different but so equally perfect backgrounds. That red canary really brings our eye in and to those Cirrocumulus clouds, :P getting in to science here, but just to convince you that they look REAL!
ReplyDeleteTwo awesome card dear Bonnie, that I love! xx
