It's my turn to host this month's challenge.
In case you hadn't noticed, I love embossing folders!
I love the texture that embossing gives without making a card super busy.
But I found there are lots of other things you can do with embossing folders.
Check out the tutorials at the Challenge Site and see what you can come up with.
The Design Team and our Fantastic Guest Designer, Cornelia
have wonderful samples to amaze and inspire you.
To make this card, I die cut a circle a little larger than the die cut
circle frame and dry embossed it.
I edged the embossed circle with Versamark ink and
heat embossed with some gold embossing powder.
The leaf is die cut from the Layering Leaves Die from
some watercolor paper that has been colored with Lindy's Magicals.
(The leaf is more green than teal IRL.)
You really can't see the sparkle, but it's there.
To keep all the little pieces intact, I carefully removed the paper from
the die and spread some liquid adhesive on the back.
I die cut the leaf again from gold foil and popped
all the pieces out.
The sentiment is a Die Cut Thankful with a stamped
and heat embossed for you.
I've tied a little piece of gold twine around the stem with a few
mini gold beads strung on it.
My mixed media are Embossing Folder, Stamping, Heat Embossing, Die Cutting and Beads.
This challenge is open until the 24th.
Hope you'll join us.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Bonnie. That Lindy’s Magicals leaf is gorgeous and I’m sure it’s even more so IRL. Fabulous idea to edge the embossed circle and heat embiss in gold... highlights the leaf perfectly! xx
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous and elegant, Bonnie! The edged embossed circle panel, the circle frame, and the leaf make a wonderful center piece. I especially LOVE the die-cut leaf beautifully colored with Magicals and embellished with the gold bead piece! It's so pretty! The leaf and the die-cut sentiment are placed at a slight angle, and that creates a playful feeling.
