It's a long post so be prepared.
First the Twofer
I had this old and well loved Stampin' Up! set out to do a card for my last class.
So When I saw the Twofer Challenge was
Often times I start with one direction for a card and end up scrapping that idea
and going another way. That was the case with this card.
It's an okay card for a guy, but I ended up with something a little different for the class.
After class the set was still out so I used the anchor for another card.
I stamped the anchors on some scraps of Neenah with blue ink and heat embossed
with clear embossing powder. I fussy cut them out and added them to a
Neenah panel that has Subtle embossing. A narrow strip of matching cardstock
divides the design from the sentiment.
As long as I had the set out, I went for a Threefer.
This anchor was stamped with Versamark and I used copper embossing powder on it.
My favorite is the blue anchor card. But I'll be using all of them.
Oh, and the class card...
They liked that I kept it simple.

Look at you making a FOURfer and all of them different designs! Way to go, Bonnie!! I love them all equally, but I agree with you that the blue anchor card design is especially appealing. That sentiment with those three anchors representing strength is just perfect! I also love your circular designs with the maps and the old-timey sailing vessel in sandy neutral shades! ReplyDeleteI have this set too and completely overlooked it when getting my supplies together. Now, after seeing your gorgeous cards, I could and should kick myself. These are perfect nautical cards and I love the blue anchor one for the color and design. The old world map is great too.
ReplyDeleteAMAZING cards Bonnie...love them all! I have an older SU! Nautical set too that I still use and it's wonderful for masculine cards, but I love your idea to use it for sympathy cards too...thanks for the inspiration!! :0)

Four great masculine card designs - love them!! I think my favourite is the sympathy card - always really hard to come up with good designs for sympathy for a man.

ReplyDeleteWell you certainly made great use of this SU set Bonnie, and I think my favourite image is the sailing ship, but the blue anchor border is perfect with that particular sentiment and the two different using the map and compass work beautifully too. x
ReplyDeleteLook at you with your four-fer Bonnie! There's something wonderful about seeing a group of cards made from the same set but all different. I particularly like the anchor one with its strong blues. I miss my The Open Sea set!
