It's time for a new challenge at CAS Mix Up.
This month's challenge is hosted by Susan and she chose...
I had seen a video with this technique but hadn't tried it.
I had a bit of trouble with the original technique so I moved on to
try one of the others we have listed at the challenge site.
I used silver foil and dry embossed a piece with my crackle embossing folder.
Then I patted my WOW Embossing pad randomly on the piece.
Using my fingers, I sprinkled some gold and copper embossing powder randomly.
When I was happy with the embossing and it was cool, I wiped a black StazOn
ink pad lightly over the raised parts.
I was in a quandary as to what to do with the piece when it was finished.
but when I saw this card that Loll had done, it all fell into place for me.
The cattail die was a gift from a friend. I believe it came from Ali Express.
I used part of the die cut.
Our Design team along with our Guest Designer Arlene have some
wonderful inspiration for you.
Hope you'll give this technique a try and join us at
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteWOW Bonnie! This is spectacular. What a fabulous effect and how innovative you are! I'd never think to do something like that. And thank you for your description of how you created this!
ReplyDeleteI adore the colours and love how you used your panel. Everything is so beautifully arranged and it's a perfectly CAS card! Love the Cattails too!
ReplyDeleteWow!! This is absolutely beautiful!! I love the colours and a stunning design!
ReplyDeleteThis one takes my breath away!
ReplyDeleteNot having any re-inkers the first technique wouldn't work for me either, Bonnie, but I love how your panels turned out using the sprinkle method and I do have all the metallic embossing powders. My hand surgery was postponed until next Thursday so I'm spending my waiting time trying new techniques. I did your 'bleaching DOX' yesterday and I love it. Today I will do this one.
ReplyDeleteWoah I am in love 😍. I couldn’t wait to see the “how to...”. This card is so rich and clean and loaded with textured inchies. Truly to my fancy. I will definitely CAS this care. A beauty xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birthday card. Your oxidized metal is gorgeous. No matter what you do wonders with EF.
ReplyDeleteThe effects of this technique are so surprising! I didn't know this technique and thank you for calling it for a challenge this month. Your card has great contrast. Using several squares as a backdrop for this water stick is brilliant

Wow..Gorgeous colors and textures on your metallic inchies, Bonnie. I love how you added the die cut cattail and sentiment in place of a 4th inchie. TFS the link to Loll's card too. Somehow, I had missed her card. Such a wonderful CAS design. Your card just cries out to be "Touched"! Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteGorgeous design, Bonnie. xx
ReplyDeleteThe heat embossing over the dry embossing using the gold and copper tones works beautifully Bonnie, and love the die cut black cattails over the top. A fantastic finished card. x
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous and striking birthday card, Bonnie! Wonderful results with the technique. I love that you added the cattail silhouette to the inchies. I can see you were inspired by Loll's butterfly card, but this card has a totally different look from hers. Thank you for your inspiration!
