Hi there. I hope you are doing well and I'm glad you stopped by!
This was an attempt at partial die cutting using a flower die and a frame die.
It didn't work out as well as I'd hoped but not bad enough to
throw away.
I'll share it with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge
ANYTHING GOES/Optional Something New.
I didn't go with the option this time.
We're still using partial die cutting at CAS Mix Up.
Challenge ends on the 24th.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteBeautifully painted poppies Bonnie and certainly not one for the bin. x
ReplyDeleteIt would have been such a shame had you tossed this. It’s so beautifully watercoloured and your partial die cutting looks great!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you kept it Bonnie and shared it as it is so very pretty and a fabulous technique x.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful Bonnie! I can imagine it takes a bit of time to figure out how to partially die-cut two dies as once. Your card is awesome! xx
ReplyDeleteyour poppies are gorgeous Bonnie, I can't see what's wrong, you have given the poppy heads a perfect 3d effect from the die cutting:)
ReplyDeleteA Sweet card Bonnie, pretty colours and your partial double die cutting is great... I love it, Robyn
ReplyDeleteLovely poppies, Bonnie! I can't quite figure out how you partially die-cut both the frame and the flowers, but the result looks fantastic! I'm so glad you didn't throw this away. The offset panel and the dry embossed background add so much interest. I love how you colored the poppies too!

Your cards should never be thrown away, in my humble opinion! Love the water coloring on the flowers, the choice of the frame, and of course, my always fave SU Subtle EF.
ReplyDeleteBlooming adorable, Bonnie!

ReplyDeleteWow, your coloring skills are incredible, Bonnie. Those highlights are just gorgeous on this. Partial die cutting is something I tried once- with zero success. Kudos to you for trying . This turned out just beautifully.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you didn't throw that away when the partial die-cutting didn't work. It's lovely - beautifully coloured flowers, great texture on the background from the embossing folder.
ReplyDeleteQuite pretty - love the color of the flowers!
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
I love your card Bonnie! The partial die cutting looks great as does the frame. I love the depth your poppies have as well with the coloring. That frame is sweet too. Glad you hung on to this one as it is so pretty! Hugs, Brenda

Are your glasses clean? This is very pretty, Bonnie, definitely not a tosser! But then again I know when your mind has a set idea, then it turns out different, it isn't good even if it is!
ReplyDeleteWhat? It's beautiful!! So glad you didn't throw it away!
ReplyDeleteI'm another one that can't see anything wrong with this beautiful card! I love the watercolouring too - the poppy petals look as delicate and silky as the real thing! Vicky x
ReplyDeletePS. I made a partial die cut card for CAS Mix Up that really DID have to be filed in the bin!!
Beautiful card - what gorgeous flowers!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for playing at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge!
