I'm so glad you stopped by!
We're off on a new challenge for the New Year at
where the very talented Hideko is our host this month at
We have two fabulous Guest Designers this month...
Tristan of Tinstar Designs
Tristan and our fabulous Design Team have
lots of inspiration for you.
For this card, I've stamped this floral bouquet using
Distress Markers to ink it up. I've swiped some of the ink on a
palette and picked up color with my waterbrush to add
to the petals, buds and stems.
I've used the matching die to cut just the top of the flowers and
added them on top of a piece of Japanese paper that my dear friend Joanna
sent me. I have been hoarding that paper and taking it out to look at
then putting it safely away. It was perfect for a backdrop for
these flowers, so I braved cutting a piece.
My mixed media are Partial Die Cutting, Inking with Markers, Stamping, Watercoloring,
and Heat Embossing
Hope you come join us at CAS Mix Up
Enjoy!

Partial die cutting is one of those skills I never mastered. Love the gorgeous blooms over a partially cut background. Wonderful painting too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors you used for your flowers and the background is so pretty. I, too, hoard pretty, special paper but this was a perfect time to use yours.
ReplyDeleteLove your beautifully watercolored partial die cut flowers, Bonnie. The texture from your rice paper is perfect for your mixed media card. TFS your gorgeous floral card, my friend. Hugs..and Happy New Year. Nancy
ReplyDeleteVery pretty partially die cut flowers Bonnie and love the bright purple and the gorgeous Japanese paper you used, and the white on black sentiment really pops. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Bonnie, your die cut flowers are perfect on that Japanese paper. Great choice in saving it for this card :)

ReplyDeleteDreamlike card, I love your work with watercolor. I perfectly understand your love for Japanese paper. I also have a few things that I received from my craft friends and I'm afraid to use them so as not to spoil them because I know that they are unique to me.

ReplyDeleteLove the colouring on thjs card too:) I do that with Japanese paper too lol!!! It looks fabulous behind the partial die-cutting!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the partial die cutting! It sounds really tricky so I'll have to look at the videos and give it a try. Love the floral bouquet and the lovely colours - so nice to look at when it's grey and pouring with rain here!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, and perfect in purples -- love that paper too, obvious to see why you're hoarding it!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are colored so beautifully, Bonnie! Wilted Violet is my favorite color among Distress Inks. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe partial die-cutting is perfect for showing off those pretty petals against the fabulous, textured, Japanese paper!
Hideko xx
This is so pretty!! I love the distress ink coloured flowers!
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie your blending skills look amazing on that beautiful 'purple' flower and wow that Japanese paper is the perfect background here. No wonder you looked at it and tucked it away for safe keeping. So glad you were finally brave enough to put scissors to it. What a stunning card.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother always said "pretty is as pretty does" and Bonnie - no one does pretty like you!!
ReplyDeleteSandy xx
Blue may be my favourite colour, but for some reason, purple and green is my favourite floral colour combo. That Japanese paper is gorgeous and a wonderful complement to your beautiful flowers. Great job partial die cutting as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card and the flowers look amazing. I can see why you wanted to keep the japanese paper Bonnie but what a fabulous use you made of it x.
ReplyDeleteLovely colours for the flowers Bonnie, pretty design.
