I hope you are coping with the current conditions.
I pray you are comfortable at home and escaping with your stamps and colors.
Do you miss hugs as much as I do? I want to get a hold of my daughters and
grandkids so badly. We face time and blow kisses, but it's not the same.
I had some backgrounds that Nance and I did a couple of years ago
using a dirty pour technique. We mixed acrylic paint with I can't remember what,
layered it all together in a cup, dumped it on some canvas paper and let
it all flow. It was very messy, but made some interesting backgrounds.
This background was cut in half and topped with a die cut daisy
and a sentiment heat embossed onto vellum. I've used dry embossing
for a frame too.
It reminds me of the scene from my window. Lots of new green leaves and
a heavy coat of pollen. No daisies yet though.
Stay safe and sane, my friends. Sending hugs from a distance.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

Luv the look of this use of acrylic paint! Fluid and interesting look. Plus such a welcome spring feel...which we can sure use these days...
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card dear friend, ...waiting for spring. I took all the hugs too :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful daisy and loving that vellum strip, allowing the superb BG to shine through.
Take care xx
YAY Bonnie! Love this dirty pour - the colours are immense! Great card. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background and beautiful card!!! LOVE!
ReplyDeleteHang in there and those hugs will be waiting for you.
Lynn
Sending hugs right back to you Bonnie x I hug my husband all the time so I am OK with not missing hugs ...lol x. What a unique and eye catching card. The technique looks fabulous and it is Spring on a card x.
ReplyDeleteVirtual hugs to you. Beautiful card. Agree the dirty pour makes for interesting backgrounds. The daisy die cut looks fab with it.
ReplyDeleteYour card is delightful Bonnie - the simply white daisy glows against the fabulous poured background. Sending you another big hug Bonnie, yes I'm also missing our family - our daughter had her birthday on Saturday and she's also a nurse, so this is a testing time - stay safe Robyn
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous background for your pretty white die cut flower Bonnie and I love the mix of colours and the sentiment on vellum goes beautifully. I know what you mean about needing a hug. I only get to hug our son when he visits from Australia about once a year. Mind you I get to do it a few times whilst he is with us. As soon as I see him I think he knows what's coming and braces himeself for the onslaught...lol. Hope the situation eases soon and you get lots of hugs then. Take care. x
ReplyDeletebeautiful dirty pour background Bonnie, so perfect for your white flower.
ReplyDeleteStay safe and keep face timing with your family, when this is all over you will need lots of hugs.
Christine
A beautiful card Bonnie - love your background, n matter what you mixed with the paint :).
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about missing hugs - I am sure my 18 mth old Granddaughter is wondering why Mama doesn't hug her! the others are older and can understand, sort of, but not the wee one.
Stay safe
Blessings
Maxine
Love your poured background, very unique. The white daisy just pops against it. Love the sentiment too. Yes, I do miss hugs a lot, but we will be able to get them again soon, Lord willing. Sending cyber hugs. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI wish someone would come up with a more appealing name for this technique! There's nothing dirty about your sweet card, Bonnie! Such a pretty 'garden' for your darling daisy to sprout from!
ReplyDeleteOH would I love to look out that window with you! xx

How pretty! I've never tried the dirty pour technique before, but it sure does make for some lovely backgrounds! Love your simple little daisy die cut too! I am so longing for brighter colors outside my window (along with actual hugs too!!) but it's usually late April or May before we start seeing any actual color up here in Michigan! The birds are singing though and I'll definitely take that as a sign that Spring really is coming!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this is gorgeous. The dirty pour is so pretty and I love the daisy die. I'm with you about missing the hugs. I talk to my family every day, but sure miss the getting together and fun in person.
ReplyDeleteFabulous background for your die cut. You have such wonderful success with these techniques. I have tried this and ended up not only with paint all over but with a wastebasket full of uglies. This almost looks hand painted with tiny brush strokes.
ReplyDeleteWow, that background is so gorgeous...great for that daisy like flower! It makes the flower just pop out...so glad you are getting time to make cards and be creative! I love visiting you here and look forward to another time when we can meet in person! Heart Hugs, Col
ReplyDeleteWow, you and Nance got so much more vibrant color and texture from your dirty pours, Bon! Adding the daisy, vellum sediment, and frame make your background sing!! I miss hugs and being with the family, too, and sadly, I think this is going to last quite a while. I'm keeping my chins up which is getting harder the more I stress eat! I hope you are keeping safe and well!! Love and hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dirty pour background for the lovely daisy - such a wonderful summertime look (not that I can think of summer yet as it was only 4C / 39F here today).
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant, Bonnie. That background is so like an meadow of green grass and flowers. Its so happy and springy.
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! Almost a marbling effect! I hope your daisies bloom soon! hugs x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous background for your die cut daisy and vellum stamped sentiment. I loved your CAS design, my friend. TFS Stay Safe..Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteYour pour came out much less 'dirty' than mine, Bonnie. I love the technique but used leftover paint that was not the best colors. Yours makes a great garden for your daisy to grow in.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Bonnie! I love the effects that the pouring does, this is the second one I've seen recently but hadn't seen before!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colours and design with your dirty pour, Bonnie. The white daisy is just perfect to pop off all that gorgeous, vibrant, spring colours. Love the vellum banner so the background shows through. And such a great font for your sentiment! xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a great technique for the background Bonnie, but such a horrible name for it! Makes me want to wash my hands - and they're already like sandpaper! You've made a beautiful card with your background and that pretty daisy die cut and your vellum wrap sentiment. Lots of daisies here, which is crazy early.
ReplyDeleteNo, you are definitely not the only one missing hugs. I love that the family are in more frequent contact by phone and screen but you're right, it's not the same.
Take care, Vicky x
How did I miss THIS ONE! That dirty pour is just perfect for that gorgeous die and love the sentiment stamp. Perfect on vellum.
ReplyDeleteYour "dirty" pour background is so BEAUTIFUL, Bonnie! Love the texture and shades of green and yellow! The white daisy looks so fresh and pretty.
ReplyDeleteI hear you. Actual hugs can't compare with face time.
Hideko xx
I admire the courage to make this poured acrylic background. I imagine what your craftroom must have looked like :-) But the end result was worth the mess. Wonderful and so unique, beautifully highlighting this sweet daisy.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
